This was the first time this song was aired. On National News. Everything Stromae does is done to perfection. Everything!! He's our Belgian goat!

Yes. Seen that on the news as I normally watch french news at 8. That was a brilliant slap in the face. It was simply overwhelming. The transition to the song and then those lyrics.

This truly was a historical pop culture moment. We were all so shocked when he started singing in the middle of the evening news watched by millions of people. Moreover, thousands of people felt liberated by what he shared with the world on that day; it was reported that suicide hotlines all over France saw a massive influx in calls as people reached out for help.

I watched from afar while eating my evening meal the news like every evening at 8 p.m. without really paying attention. Then came the Stromae interview. I move closer to my television. watch and listen then comes this song. my partner arrives “is he singing on the news?” My answer was “yes”. And we remained glued to the performance and its profound words... This will always remain for me a great moment of television in France. ❤️

This live performance was done during the 8 o'clock television news (in the end) on the leading channel in France (TF1). Live performances never occurred in television news before !! (And Stromae is not French, he's Belgian)

Not exactly : Yves Mourousi used to have live singers and groups at the end of the 1 o'clock TV news on TF1 (le journal de 13 heures) in the early 80's. Mourousi might have his shortcomings (coke, etc...) but he really loved artists. Mais c'était une autre ère.

Hi! I'm a metalhead from Buenos Aires, i knew Stromae's music months ago when i was struggling with my mind, and knowing him really was like a hug to the soul, and now i'm in the same situation, I feel alone even though I'm surrounded by my friends... thanks for this video, Although we don't know each other, your words have had a great impact at this time of night. Really, really thanks to you

Thank you for stepping out of what you love, into different music. L'enfer means hell. A place we all know. Thank you for the hug. It means so much to me. I live alone and although I am fine with that. But some days when the pain kicks in, it can be lonely. So seeing your friendly face every morning means the world.

first I thought it would be an interview and then maybe playing the music video, then I thought it WAS a music video because I didn't think he would actually do something like that on a news show but reading the comments I guess he actually did. Damn I loved this song before with the haunting chorus and melody coupled with his voice but this performance put another bittersweet icing on the top.

Stromae is an incredible artist who always seems to sing about the hard messages. Would be quite interesting to see a collaboration between Stroma and Ren; might just break the world. Another Stromae song that really hits hard is "Formidable." Be warned though, it may hit a little close to home.
