Think how impactful this song is with nothing but her playing piano and singing. She’s just incredible beyond words. On this album she did production, 100% songwriting, appalachian dulcimer, guitar, piano & vocals. Very few other musicians on the album.

I love the way she plays piano. Her piano work on Court and Spark is also phenomenal.

The saddest, most moving song, ruminating about lost love during the Christmas season.

This song is about her relationship with Graham Nash from Crosby Stills Nash and Young when they were together in California. Joni Mitchell is Canadian and grew up on the Canadian praries where we for certain get snow in winter. Cheers 🇨🇦✌

That was she playing. She plays keyboards as well as guitar and you know how she plays that.

In 1969, one week before Woodstock, Joni played at the Atlantic City Rock and Pop Festival. Almost no one there knew who she was. She came up on stage in the middle of all this heavy rock and performed. There were actually people that booed her for interrupting the big bands. She walked off stage, saying "I just sang the same verse twice and nobody noticed". She then came back out and finished her set. I just sat back and enjoyed her. So so pretty. I think i wore the grooves out of my copy of Blue.

Joni is a poet, painter, singer/songwriter, storyteller, musical genius, and living legend. I came to age listening to Joni beginning in '69 and I'm one of her biggest fans. She is, IMO, the GOAT. Her album "Blue" is my favorite. ☮&❤

plus play piano, dulcimer, multiple guitars and perform and record all her own studio tracks. And paint beautifully. Her paintings sell for 5 to 6 figures ($). She has 5 Grammys. Was good friends with Jimi Hendrix and Prince (he did an incredible cover of "A Case of You").

Joni is simply brilliant and will always be remembered as a in a class of her own as a songwriter. She has inspired me in my writing and I appreciate her in so many ways. Give a listen to "For Free" - what a beautiful and true story to which you might relate. It's a work of genius.

Joni says often, that she paints with words and music! She is a very good painter and calls herself a painter who also writes word and music and sings. And yes that is Joni Mitchell playing the piano.

Joni, a Canadian musician (multiple instruments), songwriter/poet, painter, and singer extraordinaire. This album (Blue) is my favorite of hers. Please also check out "Help Me" and "A Case Of You." Led Zeppelin's song "Going to California" was written about Joni.

You've already done "Case Of You" from the "Blue Album. Need to do "California" from the same album. Those are the best two cuts imo and the whole album is simply awesome! A work of art! Maybe you can try to do the video performance of her on that one. She's really awesome to watch perform as well as listen to. Oh, and her live rendition of "Woodstock" where's she shows off that nice piano playing skill that you like.
