In addition to his own Graham Central Station, Larry was the bass player of Sly & The Family Stone. I saw Prince 3 times including that tour. Larry brought some religion into Prince's world and he would often not sing the 'dirty' parts of songs, instead holding the mic out so the audience could sing them, as you just witnessed. Larry pretty much invented the 'slap bass' technique. When he was a kid, his mom played keyboards, he played bass and they had a drummer and would play at nursing homes and such. The drummer quit and Larry started slappin the bass to add some percussion to their sound. It was such an important part of Sly's music and basically the sound that every funk bass player attempts to duplicate. Now you should react to the Tom Jones version of Kiss.

i was very fortunate to have witnessed PRINCE in Concert 5-Times & let me tell you the Dude did not DISSAPOINT,,,,The Man was Truly on Another Level & seeing ya'll react to him really makes me Appreciate this Dude & his Genius & his Talent even more 😃🤘😃🤘

That was his “favorite” or most used bass. It was ok as he continued to use it, he called the “one eyed bass”.

Haha, that video graph does indeed show what people are watching the most & it appears people are most worried about that chucked bass than anything else. True, Prince could have a hundred high-end bass guitars per show if he wanted. Unfortunately dancing with high-heeled shoes for his showmanship for decades was his downfall. RIP. 06/07/24

The rap artist Drake is the nephew of Larry Graham. Sorry to say this but all of Drake's music combined DOES NOT compare to even one of the songs by Larry Graham and Graham Central Station. Yes I said it. GCS 4 Ever💃😍🔥🎶🤗
