Stryper is hands down the Led Zepplin/Black Sabbath/KISS of Christian Metal, and they are undoubtedly on the best bands to ever come out of the 80's period. Michael Sweet and Oz Fox are one of the most underrated guitar duos in Metal/Rock history. Because they are Christians they don't get the respect they have earned and truly deserve. They deserve to be inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.

Stryper is a Christian band formed by the Sweet brothers Michael (Lead vocals and guitar) and Robert (Drums)and are still releasing albums to this day, they use to get a lot of flack for their Christian views in the world of heavy rock, Metal, back in the '80s but what was undeniable was the talent-filled with awesome rocking songs, fun fact, back in 1986 I got hit several times in the head at their concerts with New Testament bibles that they would throw into the audience. Good Times.

Ox Fox is one heck of a guitarist. Met him a few times in Las Vegas. He plays in a side gig called HartAttack with a good friend of mine, the lead singer of HartAttack, Drew Hart from time to time. Awesome person. ✌🤘

I met Oz and Michael after their show at the Hammersmith Odeon in London around 1989-90, really nice people they were genuinely happy to see the fans and chat for a while, I asked them what music they were currently listening to and they both said 'The Beatles'

Oz is good but for some reason Michael seems to always get over looked for his guitar chops as well. I mean he is the one that writes nearly all their songs, he now produces all their albums as well. and he is a fantastic guitarist as well. This band is still killer.

Oz and Michael have two different styles of playing that compliment each other. Though Oz is good at the tough solos, Michael, Robert, and Tim are just as important to the band. BTW pray for Tim. He's having a hard time and is currently not in the band.

Stryper one my favorites since a kid 1984. They still rock today in 2021. Seen them 14 times and better with age because of no drugs or drinking.

What a great reaction and intro to your lovely spouse. So good to see her getting in the game. I was so addicted to the music in late 80s. Got me a jeans jacket (locked up somewhere) that a friend's mom painted the whole back of it to look like their logo. Their drummer Robert Sweet was one of the 3 drummers who inspired me to want to be a drummer myself. I'm glad you liked it. But this tune doesnt really express what they're notorious for, depending on who you consider "you" to be as the song depicts. I think they wrote this song in particular to let the listener decide who "you" is and I wont spoil it for them.

Thanks for being a bit more open minded and testing the Christian metal waters. Another awesome album by these rockers is Murder by Pride. It is much heavier and, I think, their first without original bassist Timothy Gaines. A healthy surprise by this band is on their album titled Against The Law. They do a killer rendition of Shining Star by Earth Wind and Fire.

You should educate Dolly by reacting to some of the great all female japanese metal bands, who are the best in the world right now. Bands like Aldious, Mary`s Blood, Nemophila, Lovebites, Bridear, Fate Gear just to mention a few. Maybe she`ll get to like metal better, when se sees these fantastic, talented, strong japanese women shredding it.

My opinion I think Robert had most flashy style of drumming of that time then any other drummer in the 80s. I did not say he was the best drummer of his time.
