They are called road wheels, the black bands are road tyres and the small wheels above the main road wheels are track support rollers.

They are wheels. Technical term road wheels
@milanondrak55642 жыл бұрын
The wheels that are at the bottom are road wheels, the drive wheels are called sprockets, the other higher wheels are called tensioners and the little wheels at the top of the Hull are track guides. The wheels are attached to the hull and the guns are on the turret. This tanks coming together fast. I've just finished upgrading the last of the Army's Challenger 2 tanks this week and put it on the transporter today. My next job is for massive Caterpillar bulldozers weighing 80 tons

Wayne, look at the instructions again for the first 4 screws you installed. You have to remove the 4screws that connect the 2 pieces of aluminum together and replace them with the new screws. It was a fix for the screws being too long going through the metal. Thetop deck section didn't fit well with them in there so they replaced them.
@WorldofWayneUK2 жыл бұрын
Yep. I sorted it now. Funny enough those screws fit lovely in the other place lol
@neilsulkes56462 жыл бұрын
Im sure they did. My upper deck fit like crap prior to installing the new screws. Check all of the screws that hold the aluminum onto the deck. They may be loose just a tad. Mine were so just a heads up.

@@WorldofWayneUK names are as others have said :) The tyres are so there's a layer of friction between the wheels and track. Otherwise you'd have smooth metal rubbing on smooth metal which would wear away and not move as well. Also easier and cheaper to replace than the wheels :) At some point you'll gets wheels that look like cogs.. they're called sprockets and fit into the tracks to pull the tank along :)

Nicely done with the build and yes doing the track separate and in batches is the best way to do it in my opinion aswell. Loving the build as all ways. Stay safe all.
@the_once-and-future_king.2 жыл бұрын
They are roadwheels. Those smaller ones near the sponsons are return rollers or return wheels. The toothed driven wheel is the drive sprocket. The remaining undriven wheel is the idler and usually also incorporates a track tensioner system, especially with 'live' tracks (this is where there is a specific tension applied to the return run. They are denoted by the presence of return rollers. If the return run was tensioned but had no return rollers the track could torque itself off the drive sprocket. For the non-live tracks, look at the Panther or Tiger, where the track sags on the return run and there are no return rollers.

According with my T72 build , they are Road Wheels Wayne, but wheels is good enough. Thanks for video Wayne, yes I had to take metal plate off too to reverse the screws, because the top was not fitting flush. But it does tell you to do that, someone at the magazine had made a faux pas, yet again. Lol.

I could only make 5 0f the 7 road wheels required because I also had 2 wheel packs with the incorrect wheels in. Bit disappointed with this build as there is far too much plastic in it for what it is costing. The difference between this Leopard and all the other models in the AGORA range is that they are all statics with working features where as this is supposed to be a fully working RC model. It should have metal suspension arms with the road wheels running on ball races and not a plastic bush which is rubbish. The suspension arms are able to twist and bend far too much and yes the lower hull at least should be metal. This AGORA Leopard 2A6 will be compared to the ones from Tamiya which is a similar price and also Heng Long which cost less but they both have metal running gear. There is also a full metal chassis upgrade for the Heng Long. Also in the forums it has been pointed out that the front of the turret isn't level so I was wondering if this is an issue that needs a fix before getting any further into the build?

It will be interesting to see what gearbox are supplied with this build? If they come with cheap nylon gears? I will be very disappointed.

@@petemarcham8030 When I received pack 1 I had really high hopes for this build. There was a turret and gun barrel that was mainly cast metal and the metal and rubber padded tracks are great. I was really hoping the hull was also going to be metal but what a let down to find it is plastic screwed to a sheet of ally plate. I thought ok surely the lower hull and suspension arms will be metal but no there also plastic. I think AGORA or someone should seriously consider making metal upgrades available for at least the wheels and suspension.
@petemarcham80302 жыл бұрын
@@johnmortimer7782 My thoughts were the same on pack 1. I really thought this was going to be a fantastic monster of a tank, all metal for the price they ask. Next time I won’t jump in so quickly and watch these online videos before subscribing. We live and learn! BTW I go by Dice man on the the Agora forum.
@johnmortimer77822 жыл бұрын
AGORA do some really nice models in fact I've got on order the Routemaster London bus which looks amazing. Look how much metal is used in this model compared to the Leopard but at the end of the day It's a static showpiece. It feels like Agora who are used to dealing with static models trying to get involved with the world of RC without understanding the engineering requirements needed. To have those wheels held on by a self tapping screw into plastic is a crap idea and they will forever become lose. Especially the ones on the nearside. They need to be screwed and thread locked onto metal shaft. Being half way through the build it's difficult to know whether to carry on and see it through to the end. Either way is potentially wasting a lot of money unless it can be salvaged. Beginning to wish I'd ordered either the Tamiya or the Heng Long versions now.
@TheRolands812 жыл бұрын
Just a heads up. Seems like you have overtightened the wheels. You need to tighten those screws to the poin that wheel is sitting snug on the pulley but still has free spining wheel. If it is static model then nevermind but if it is electric motor operated then this will preent motor to have too much strain and in turn prevent overheat and possibly burn out of the motor. Also I would oil those washers to prevent friction and help with wheel rotation and also reduce load on the motor.

I’m still trying to get through the Bismarck build 🤣. I think I’ve made it to somewhere around pack 50, lots of videos to get through. What got me on your channel, got the fire truck build in my recommendation. What would be real cool, if I could send the dimensions of our Ladder truck/quint and our Engine to the company that designs these models. And I could get a replica of my dept. Rigs to put together. That would be extremely cool.
