The all-new, 10-episode second installment of THE X-FILES is executive-produced by creator Chris Carter, with stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson returning in their roles as iconic FBI Agents FOX MULDER and DANA SCULLY. Mitch Pileggi also returns as FBI Asst. Director WALTER SKINNER. Additionally, the all-new episodes will feature guest-star appearances by Annabeth Gish, Robbie Amell, Lauren Ambrose, Karin Konoval, Barbara Hershey, Haley Joel Osment and William B. Davis, who reprises his role as “Cigarette Smoking Man.” Along with Carter, series veteran Glen Morgan serves as an executive producer.
In 2016, THE X-FILES drew an average Multi-Platform audience of nearly 16 million viewers and was last season’s No. 2 broadcast drama. It also was the season’s most talked-about event series on Twitter.
THE X-FILES originally premiered in September 1993. Over the course of its nine-season run, the influential series went from breakout sci-fi favorite to massive global hit, and became one of the most successful television dramas of all time. The show, which earned 16 Emmy Awards, five Golden Globes and a Peabody Award, follows FBI special agents Scully and Mulder, as they investigate unexplained cases - “X-Files” - for which the only answers involve paranormal phenomena.

One of my favorite Scully moments has always been in E.B.E., where she says, "Mulder, the truth is out there... but so are lies." The whole premise of the show is centered around the idea of Mulder being right all along, but she was totally on the mark with this one. And I think it not only showed her wisdom, but also her honesty and integrity. It was still so early in their relationship, and there was still a little question in the back of Mulder's head about whether or not he could trust her. This moment confirmed that she wasn't contradicting him just for the sake of it, or because she had some hidden agenda --- but she actually cared and just wanted to protect him from those who would take advantage of his willingness to believe.

This show is more than just a cult phenomenon, it showcased dependancy, teamwork, optimism, love and mystery all in one. I have seen every single episode of all of the seasons, and i must admit the seasons 7, 8 and 9 became quite convoluted. It should have stuck to the "monster/mystery of the week" formula. I am 23 now and i still love this show as if i did back when i first started watching it. Yes, it can be a bit much with all of the conspiracy nonsense happening left right and centre but away from that, it had really meaningful foundations. I am still pursuing my degree at the moment, and i wish to join the Police someday. I have looked back as of late and noticed that Fox Mulder's drive and pursuit to find the truth has ultimately led me to tackle a government bodied official role, to pursue justice in criminology and any other unexplainable phenomena that may arise on the journey there. This show will live on forever and if anyone hung around long enough to read the end of the text, you should go and watch the show from its inception. It will change you

I still couldn't fathom how different Gillian and Scully's personalities are. Like, Gillian is a rather goofy, flirtatious, and sharp witted woman while Scully is stern and solemn and quite intense. I know this is acting but my god, they couldn't be any more different!

I'm not just a fan of the X-Files, but I'm also a fan of Millenium as well. And I always wondered what would Frank Black be doing in today's climate. I like to imagine that if Chris starts a sequel to Millenium, I like to think it would focus on a new FBI Profiler who is also struck with the same Gifts that Frank has and sees Frank Black for his help and advice and starts asking him about what this Millenium group is? Where Frank and the new Profiler discover that the Millenium Group has splintered into other organizations within the Evangelical Community and the Military Industrial Complex who wish to continue the Millenium Group's original goal which was to start the Apocalypse. And this FBI Profiler tells Frank that he is seeing Devils standing next to and behind Politicians, Killers, Judges, CEOS, and Generals all being manipulated behind the scenes.

The show needs a final movie or season to end it. You can’t leave an epic show like this unfinished, it would be like an artist only painting half of a portrait. They still haven’t touched on Reptilians, trans dimensional beings, and a few other things, plus with everything happening today with the UAP disclosure it would be incredibly prevalent and connect to the real world. Not to mention 12 seasons makes a whole lot more sense than 11 seasons as the final number.
