They Added the ATLAS SUBMARINE to Subnautica… (Mod)

The long-awaited Atlas Submarine has finally been modded into Subnautica and in today’s video we’re going to be checking it out along with two other new submarines that have recently been modded into the game. Now, if you’re not sure what the Atlas is, it was originally a concept for Subnautica that ended up being scrapped due to its size. But now, thanks to mods, it’s been added to the game, and although it and the two other submarines are definitely not finished, they’re still really cool and I want to check them out! Be sure to stick around to the end because we’re going to be testing out these subs with the Gargantuan Leviathan...

The Atlas Submarine mod is currently not available to the public and this specific build will likely never be released to the public. For more information, please watch the entire video.
This Gargantuan Leviathan mod is currently unreleased so there is no way to download it for the time being. When it is finished, it will be available for free.

It's sad but it makes sense. A sub bigger than the Cyclops doesn't really belong in the Crater. The Cyclops already has enough trouble with getting stuck and all that. So I understand why they didn't add it.

I think the one that fits the stock game best is the odyssey. It’s the right size and fits the art style best. Atlas fits the art style, but it’s far too big.

Imagine if all the Void content was like optional, say after you disable the gun, maybe you get the blueprints for the Atlas, and you have a choice, whether to take the Atlas and explore the new void or just leave the planet. I think that until the emperor is cured, all these big boi leviathans shouldn't play a big role other than keeping the void locked

Its been 3 months but I find your idea amazing. It could have been a whole nother game. That would have been sick. Exploring the void and after some time new biomes start appearing with even bigger lev class creatures. It would prbly take up a lot of space and performance would be questionable but that would be a dream. Not this below zero bs where the biggest thing alive is a shrimp looking fish scaled up

@@kingmp1227 If you are referring to the Chelicerate as a beefed up shrimp I agree with you. They are not scary at all. Admittedly being eaten by one whilst in VR is not pleasant to put it mildly but they do not inspire fear. They are smaller than the Shadow Leviathan and those are genuinely terrifying. I've built a base to watch one in the distance as they are the best looking Leviathan in either of the games. The way it moves between the crystals and the way it glides around silently is scary. They are the best part of BZ. Their ability to just appear is the polar opposite to the Reapers style of fear as they quickly appear behind you with little warning. Reapers are still scarier with their howls and presence. You hear them quite some time before seeing one. When you see one of those, you leave that area or make sure you have a place to hide or get away from them. My first playthrough they were almost friendly and hardly attacked. My second... they became psychos and I now have a fear of them.

You know what I want modders to make in Subnautica? A submarine so large that it has a Cyclops docking bay. Imagine a submarine able to eject a Cyclops which then ejects a Seamoth or something, that would be pretty cool. The submarine would have to have a lot of stuff in it to justify its enormous size. I'm thinking that it would have some preset rooms already inside, such as a room with beds in it, a cafeteria, and a grow room that has pre-built grow beds. Also, it would make reaper leviathans unable to destroy it given its immense size, but they could bite breaches in the hull similar to the Cyclops, except that instead of damaging the ship it causes it to slowly flood like a seabase, where you could either seal bulkhead doors for a temporary fix or exit the vessile and fix it from the outside. Mainly the real reason I want a ship like this is so that I can say that I can say I have a Cyclops docking bay

Heh, I originally got excited from this, but now... it feels like the Atlas is surrounded with bad luck. You know, a mod to ever been created to add the atlas is awaited from so long, and when it seems to finally being made, it stabs us in the back... and now it seems like no one is going to create a mod to it, nor it's going to be developed in another mod. This brings the Atlas in it's original state; in the dark, as an undeveloped idea... and honestly I now find it quite hard to believe that this is going to be considered again... Rest in peace, Atlas.

Atlas is a cool submarine, but it's surprising it hasn't been released until now.

It's literally a cyclops, but on steroids. It's bigger, more durable, has more space, is designed to survive strong creature attacks and has a high crush depth. So it will take some time to create, they could program it using Cyclop's assets but this would be quite hard. It's so big that it won't really fit the map and that's why it was removed, so in order for it to really shine, we would need basicly a third Subnautica, it would be better on multiplayer

I'd like it if the Atrama was meant to be a heavily-armored submersible that while slow could withstand the attacks of leviathans with little damage, so while it wouldn't be great at storing or transporting material it could explore areas like the Dunes, Mountains, Crash Zone, Lost River, and Lava Zones without fear. And it would be doubly awesome if the Atlas could carry the smaller vehicles inside it.

Part of me wishes they’d actually add this, but make it large enough to dock a Cyclops within it. As absurd as it sounds, I refuse to buy the idea that the Cyclops can function entirely as a mobile base. There are certain base components that can’t be built within the Cyclops. Enable everything that can be built in a stationary base to be built within the Atlas. Have it move slower and be less maneuverable than the Cyclops, but be able to take an absolute beating from leviathans before damage starts to show.

i think to actually implement this thing into the game it would require both a bigger map and multiplayer. the game already mentions the cyclops requires 3 crew-members, so imagine the atlas (twice the size of the cyclops) being piloted by a single person
