That man in the grey t-shirt, who pushed in front of the dad carrying the little boy, grabbed the horse's bridle on both sides, then under the chin where the curb chain is.. which could have easily displaced it, knew exactly what he was up to, and looked at whoever he was with, gave a nod and a grin that said look I'm holding the reins.. bridle..and haven't been seen! I recently suggested we start fining people who touch the reins £100. Even through we now have notices saying not to touch the reins many people do not read or speak English,I'm sure a sign could be made showing the reins on a horse with a red line across it plus £100 at the side.People would soon learn not to do it if it was going to cost them a substantial amount

Barriers are not an option , it's a public footpath in Whitehall under control of Westminster council not MOD property . Also any form of barrier would be potentially dangerous to horse and Trooper if the horse became unsettled and ran forward .

It's a public right of way so cant put up barriers but also it's a safety issue. If a horse freaks out due to the protests or too many tourists then it could hurt itself, the guard or someone else. The bollards are there for a reason and the tourists need to be more respectful. Also, the tourists could just try using the simple courtesy of asking if it's ok to touch the horse? The guards will often signal a yes or no when asked. There is zero reason to hold the reins and it infuriates me when I see so many ignorant people try to do it. The horse and rider are there not as a tourist photo-op but as a member of our military.

This is a compilation of earlier videos but still interesting to see and be reminded of the idiots and the disrespect shown towards our guards and their magnificent horses. Is it any wonder, when many of these foreign tourists eat horse meat ….Spain, Japan, Italy, Belgium, etc. We are a nation of animal lovers but from my experience of foreign travel, my wife and I have observed dreadful treatment and abuse of these poor dumb creatures.
