The guy telling the story in #7 was just as cringy as the guy he was talking about. Especially when it came to comments like, “As if someone like me would be scared of a guy like this. I do martial arts!.”, and “ Then I whipped out my blade. “ 🙄🙄🙄 If he was so fearless, then why were his hands sweating so bad that he couldn’t use his phone minutes ago? Lol He also doesn’t seem to understand what a narcissist is, because that’s not the behavior the guy with him was showing at all.

Yes, I wasn't in that situation, but even so I feel that was totally heartless. Who notices someone is out of it/not fully there, then kicks them out into the cold on an insanely cold night. Not to mention NPD is an actual disorder. It takes time to diagnose, and people who attempt to diagnose someone with such a complex disorder are ignorant and annoying. The common person lacks the education to properly diagnose most disorders, as they are internal experiences and require many years to truly understand. The way many of them manifest within someone differs, along with traits.

It could be any number of things. The stuff the guy said sound a lot like delusions you might have with certain mental illnesses. Making up crazy stories about yourself could be a symptom of narcissism, but it could also be a symptom of bipolar or a few other personality disorders. You can't really diagnose the guy just from this one interaction

That last story, I get why they kicked him out of their apartment, but I mean, come on. The poor guy was drunk, his supposed friends had just ditched him, and it was snowing. They could have at least let him stay until he sobered up or their neighbors woke up, or called someone else to come get him. Like the police. Anything would have been better than what they did. That was just craptastic.

Man, the last one. It was scary cold said the OP. A messed up kid wanders in and scares them. He gives no sign of being violent. Out you go, says OP and partner, "we don't know you personally so feel free to die of hypothermia outside our home, go on, shoo". FFS, at least call the cops to take him somewhere to stay warm till he sobers up or even an ambulance in case he'd been drugged, attacked or was already hypothermic. Thank goodness for these heartless people's lady neighbour.

Story 11, the problem in this story is that just giving a look with your eyes is going to do absolutely nothing but what could get someone to back off is to use your words. Tell the creep to piss off, threaten to kick them where it hurts most and if neither those work, call the police. And her husband saying she overreacted? she underreacted. Girls need to start standing up for themselves instead of letting these creepy perverts walk all over them.

Story 7... the endless bragging and delusions of grandeur are both so familiar. I remember I was eating with "this person" and he suddenly put his food down and said "I'm the closest thing to God on this Earth" then continued to eat. He was also always sizing people up, bragging, claiming everyone wanted him to be the leader of everything, chatting people up all loud and was also manipulative and a pathologocal liar. His best 2 qualities are he can fix any car he encounters and has a bubbly optimistic personality. Anyway, I absolutely agree with the writer of story 7. Most people being labeled Narcissist are really just self centered and mean.

(I went to his house because it was my grandmas first heavenly birthday and I wanted to be sure my dad was okay because he has been somewhat suicidal before/threatened it) he also searched through all my bags and rooms before taking my phone and going through all my messages with my (now ex) boyfriend. But now he’s having another daughter with my stepmom and that has had a toll on my mental health, I’m not sure what to do. Some maintenance guys are HORRIBLE. The one in the apartment I used to live in, served as both a maintenance man and a leasing agent, which meant that he knew every tenant's personal business. He would tell tenants what other tenants' source of income was and/or where they worked and which car they drove and their precise age, and if they were disabled - he'd disclose what their disability was. He told tenants other tenants' first and last names and informed others whenever someone was behind on rent or was facing eviction and even when one tenant got a late (August) income tax rebate check - he told several tenants. This may not seem all that bad to some, but for a recluse person or one who is extremely private, it was HELL. ...Just imagine all your neighbors knowing most of your personal business and YOU were not the one who told them, but rather a scrawny little middle-aged maintenance guy. ...Oh, and the few times that someone confronted him, he denied it all, and if the property owners did get after him about it, we [tenants] didn't her anything about it.

Sorry but the story where they mentioned their anxiety every 3 seconds made me want the burglars to break in so they’d shut up lol

The world we live in now. “I can’t tell someone to leave because my anxiety won’t let me”. Sounds like someone was coddled and breastfed way too long.

OK so the djgammarabbit story... man.. Why are you humoring them that long if you're uncomfortable?
@chopsandtoots

Because people are pushovers and it's easier to be passive. So tired of hearing, "I was raised to be polite." Raised to be polite means saying thank you if someone holds a door open for you. People conflate "politeness" with "passiveness" way too often. Had a creepy guy at a train station try to get me to follow him to his car and I flat out refused and ignored him, and he didn't bother me after that. It's pretty easy to figure out if you're one to fight back and if you don't, people will prey on that.

I'm sorry, but what is up with people with "anxiety"?! Does it really make you useless? And to the guy in the last story....Really?! You put that poor kid out in the snow to freeze?

@@lydiapetra1211 not quite! Maybe experiencing psychosis, but what is considered "psychopathy" is actually antisocial personality disorder. Folks with APD can be very charming and conniving, or they can be obviously antisocial, but the thing to remember is that they dont feel emotions like guilt and empathy in the same way as others. CEOs are 3x more likely to have APD than the general population, according to a 2010 study (DOI: 10.1002/bsl.925)

No joke story 7 sounds like , exactly like a guy I dated. I dated him long enough to figure out he was full of BS and every word that came out of his mouth was lie. Thank God it didn't take long to realize he was a complete narcissist. He tried to stalk me for a while until I started dating a 6ft 4in 250lb cop who was 15 years his junior. He ( crazy guy) lied to me about his age. Said he was 42 but was actually 52. I was like 32. I tried to sneak and look at his license once but he had taken something sharp and actually scratched it off😂😂 I'm so thankful to have gotten out of that no worse for wear
