Hey Craig and Margaret thankyou for all the information you put up ,you,s have taught me alot about myself and I'm slowly working on your books . I have been with my wife for 33 years and I must admit that since I started a new job it became very stressful and when I came home at night I would just shut down and ignore her but she never asked if I was ok , anyway she took a job working nights so we hardly spent time together and she made friends with a guy at work and then it evolved into a relationship and they got intimate in our house while I was at work during the day. She told me about the day they did it and how she wanted him to come and live here and I said no . Anyway she kept trying to have him here then we would get into argument's and she would say it's over and she doesn't want to see me anymore so I go no contact and a couple of days later she reaches out . Then the whole process starts again . I love this woman to bits . So now what happens is she sleeps and spends time with him and spends time with me , he is old enough to be our son lol . So now they have just got a place to rent together but she still wants to keep coming here . I get so confused and when she is here I can't wait for her to leave, I'm starting to feel numb about the whole situation, do I just let her go and let her do what she wants and I just focus on myself which I'm slowly doing and starting to feel better in myself and keeping my emotions in check . Currently going through almost the exact same situation with my ex. Haven't talked to her in over 3-months and almost certain she rebounded into something almost immediately after we split. Still tears my heart out thinking about it as this almost exact same thing happened a year ago! Its rough. Especially when you want that person you care so much for, to just care for you the same way. This back and forth with her feelings and her actions since tears me up inside and just creates scar tissue. It saddens me to see what we had together, devolve and ruined by that kind of behaviour. I really thought she was the last girlfriend I would EVER have.

Heard from my ex a couple of weeks ago too. We’ve been broken up 11 months now. He’s breadcrumbed me every few months, and I held out hope for so long that one day he’d want to meet up. It never happened. Was just on the verge of finally moving on, and he popped up again after many months. This time, I had the strength to say no more. Breadcrumbs are just cruel and keep you on the hook for too long. Have learned to always move on immediately if I have a future breakup. Too hard to put Humpty Dumpty back together again. Best to find someone new who would never dump you in the first place!

In my experience this kind of push and pull is typical of avoidants. Some break up others will bread-crumb you. Either way you are left feeling miserable. And even if you work a ton on yourself and take them back, they will pull away again when there is enough closeness (which for them is invariably "too much closeness"). This type of people are a total waste of time and energies. They show how unreliable they are and that they will always have a foot out the door. They are so not worthy the investment and commitment...

The reality is that all of us on this site have worked on ourselves, and the exes are still stuck in the same place. Even if they want to reconcile, they are usually in the same place and will exhibit the same behavior and issues. ..nothing has changed.

I was with an ex for 2 years and he ended up ghosting me out of nowhere. I tried everything to call and text but I didn’t get any feedback. So I gave up after a month. Eventually he reached out after a year or so later. We talked things out and he admitted to stalking my page and wanting to build the courage to talk to me. All I can say is that I hope my ex is not only unhappy but totally miserable. After 4 months of no contact I reached out and attempted reconciliation. She was so paranoid and nutzoid that I told her to never contact me again, and I wanted nothing to do with her. Amazingly, I feel better and more free than ever! I have done all the work and been doing the personal growth for about 2 years. The only advice I can give is go slow. Don't over invest right away. Don't have expectations. Focus on you is mandatory- it detoxes all the pain and impatience and frustration and anxieties-you have moments of it but you aren't consumed with it-excercising meditation taking up hobbies surrounding yourself with loved ones laughing taking time to appreciate-do volunteer work-attachment avoidants take people for granted-whether its conscious or not-they r not well-but this doesn't mean you have to tolerate it because it is a form of abuse-be good to YOU first because over giving can back fire and monitor your generosity and kindness-not all deserve it

In my breakup which was heart breaking, I've taken advantage and dived deep into my past to find out that my INSECURITIES where from my childhood and now I am growing and looking at my anxious and believe or not secure attachment style is helping me re connect with my Ex, we have slowly but surely been connecting going out... For me I had to go through my childhood and look at the trauma and abandonment. It wasn’t what happened to me but it was what I believed about myself as a result. For each situation there was a negative belief about myself and I had to rewrite a new belief that is truthful and positive. Then when I could finally heal from that the broken relationship wasn’t triggering the old beliefs and the old pain. I also discovered that I had recreated a similar attachment where I was trying to make someone happy so that they would love me instead of the other person being responsible for their own happiness and loving me for who I am and not for what I can do for them. I also started to see that my relationship with her was a reflection of my relationship with God. I had treated God the same way she had treated me. This discovery was uncomfortable at first then I decided to press into my relationship with God instead and that’s where I found the hole inside of me beginning to get filled. And had I not made her an idol in place of God, and didn’t she fail to do what only God could do? I hadn’t put much thought into such things before but today I am grateful for what I have now. I work at putting God first and then adding to instead of the other way around. May your healing come quickly.

My girlfriend of almost 3 years broke up with me and told me I was too controlling of her and too needy and clingy. So we met briefly and she gave me the gift. We hugged and had a casual conversation but nothing about our relationship or about us. When I was about to leave she told me to let her know how I like the gift which were a pair of sneakers. I then left and went back into no contact. My ex-wife asked for a divorce and I moved out then gave her the papers after a year separated. 13 years later she called me back and said she regretted that and never wanted a divorce when she asked for it. Meanwhile I had remarried for 12 years and current wife asked for a divorce. She screamed and yelled, threw her ring and asked me what I had to say for myself. I had just worked a long hard day and I told her I had put her clothes in the dryer and she would have clean clothes in the morning and went to bed. I would not talk about divorce and still won’t. 7 months later now and it’s working out. I stopped catering to the emotional outbursts, just listened without trying to defend myself and then moved onto the next thing. If I hadn’t known the regrets of the first I probably wouldn’t have kept my cool for the second. I hope that is somehow helpful and wish you the best outcome.
