What stuck out to me was the music throughout the film, it was only used as a tool to control people like as soon as the characters heard the music they would act differently. It’s crazy cause we go through that today ie drill music, female rappers, and even soul/rnb music.

This movie was very eerie with many dark tones. It's hyper-realism,... Which means they took some real world conspiracies and realities of the black community and over-exaggerated it. John Boyega's portrayal as Fontaine did stand out (in a negative way) because it felt so off to me at first, but by the end, I started to think that it might have been intentional (at least from the director's POV) because he was playing a clone after all.. AND when you consider the roles he played as Chester and as the scientist. It speaks to his range as an actor for one, but it definitely makes me think the strangeness might've been intentional

Loved the movie, I was hopping on my bed laughing and screaming. But I had two gripes. 1. Fontaine had 30k to pay the other drug dealer but he lived in the dumps. 2. I still don't know why the scientist Fontaine made clones to assimilate with the whites if only the worst of the worst black people were made into clones. Still a great film, I guess I'll wait for someone to explain that part😂

SPOILERS IF YOU HAVENT WATCHED It was shown that he was making money, & also that if he hadn't realized he was a clone he wouldn't have caught on to what was happening. Not too much of a stretch to think that his day to day routine prior to finding out he was a clone was the same. for the second point, they spoke about how the glen was their "control group" & that they also had other facilities set up in other locations. I think the assimilation thing was supposed to be the point. He saw them as the worst, & was trying to assimilate those communities, for "unity". he thought that they would be better off, but that's clearly not true. se people

I enjoyed the ideas this movie laid out. Very 1970's in terms of style a la "Black Action Films" as well as chilling Sci-Fi like "Coma," "Soylent Green," "The Clones." One major plot hole was how, if the whole Glen is under surveillance, could the folk enter the underground without being detected. One more re-write would have helped.
