Fun Fact: The Afflicted monsters are a sort of copy of the Apex Monsters ( In 4 Ultimate, not Rise) where they've been infected from the Frenzy Virus thanks to Gore/Shagaru Magala. Which is pretty ironic since the two are placed in Sunbreak, but aren't able to create Apex monsters because, you know, the Sunbreak story is about little flying leeches and not a monster sickness.

@@TREE3301 you'll be able to dodge the Arzuros and just about anything else with evade extender 3. My main observation from watching your videos is that you tend to go head first rather than scheming a way for a win. I suggest making use of hunting helpers to give you an edge. Also, although you can't capture Anomaly monsters, you can trap them. For example, I'll grab the sleep toad on the Citadel map and sneak up on the monster with it. They fall asleep, I plant my bombs, plant a trap directly in front of them, charge my weapon from behind (sneak attack 20% attack boost) and boom! 💥 They get up, I reposition to the front, they try to attack me and get stuck in a trap. More free damage. Then we can set off a skunk and play follow me to another monster where we can capitalize on more shenanigans. Etc. Try making more use of your environment, I think you'll have more fun. Save the bravery for the Arena fights 😄 Thanks for sharing your playthrough with us! The humility is refreshing.

Anomaly quests summarized: hit the glowing red parts to pop them and do a lot of damage. Prioritize that over hitting just the head. Do enough damage and you get a free knockdown. Don’t, and the monster will roar and explode. All afflicted monsters inflict bloodblight, which slowly ticks away your health and reduces the effects of healing items, BUT you can deal damage to heal.

Anomalies ended up being one of the more easier parts of the game for me. They really just have overinflated health pools and hit harder so basic pattern recognition and spatial awareness was all I needed. It's not until later where movesets get alterd for some monsters I struggled but again it became easy after learning the new moves.

the anomaly grind is quite the ordeal, I recommend just installing an increased rewards mod, because constantly grinding during a stream is pretty exhausting

CB generally have a hard matchup against bipedal monsters or at least those who fights standing up due to your SAED phials not hitting optimally, but once you get used to it, it'll be fine. it gets a lot better when fighting other anomaly quest since you can randomly explode red spots just by spamming SAED, compared to other weapon where you have to aim for it.

Arzuros and Volvidon aren't too bad, especially if you know their movement patterns and can snipe their heads for KOs. Lagombi is the worst, though. For as bad as Tree had with arzuros running around, that giant rabbit acts like his slide is his only move, and constantly puts himself outside of CB's reach.

I saw one guy in the chat say that he brought Lance and it went poorly, but I honestly have a really easy time with a Lance against Arzuros since you can just block/counter everything. You can't be an SnS main in this game without the Shouryuken XD Looking forward to when you get to some of the crazier anomalies!

I think instead of spamming discharges using the chainsaw skill would be more efficient against the afflicted monsters, that is if you manage to learn their patterns instead of spamming

Axe hopper and rising dash with an impact CB give you tons of hits to the head to keep him on ground-level with stuns, and throw in some fire element to boost damage so it doesn't take too long. He might not realize that Sunbreak way overtuned element CB, and also might not have built the Rakna CB to take advantage of the elemental weakness.

Now would be a good time to ditch raw CB in favour of more elemental oriented builds. It’d be in your best interests to farm the title update monsters whilst raising your MR past each progression cap in order to fight the “new” G rank urgent quest monsters. Particularly, Ibushi and Allmother Narwa at MR 20 and 30 respectively. Combining the pieces of armor from those two monsters with the skills that benefit CB will give you one of the easiest “mixed” sets for early endgame, and trust me it’s not even comparable to other full sets you could make at the time. Other than that I’d make use of your Twitch lackies as much as possible when grinding anomaly levels, because realistically you aren’t going to be seeing any new monsters until you’re well past AR 181. But if you aren’t so privy to doing anomaly grinding for videos, it’s more lucrative to just full focus MR grinding. Because the new Risen Elder Dragons have standard hunts available at certain MR levels.
