I wish I was surprised by the woman talking about her husband cheating during her cancer treatment, but I work at a cancer research hospital and I've heard so many stories like that. Husbands abandoning wives, guilting them into doing things even when they're at their weakest, or literally ignoring their role as caregiver and putting their wife's life in more danger. Meanwhile, the wives of patients sacrifice so much for their partners getting cancer treatment its not even comparable.

I've read this too! Just wow, the differences between men and women
@elenalizabethАй бұрын
Yeah I think the stats I read said around 90% of men will leave their partner or cheat on them while they are going through a long-term medical issue (cancer, Parkinson’s, etc). And it’s only around 5% of women who will leave in the same types of situations. Also that women who had been already planning on leaving their partner before the man’s medical diagnosis are likely to instead stay due to guilt or feeling like they “have to” play caregiver to them.

Real talk, as a woman, I am very careful not to be overly friendly with kids in public. Now, I have a ton of nieces and nephews but am childfree by choice. I started to realize some time in my early 20s just how unsafe that behavior is. Why? Because I felt like it softened kids up to strangers. If a kid smiles at me in public, I don't frown, but I politely smile back (if they are in the presence of their parents and the parent can see what's going on). I don't start communicating with the kid at all unless the kid speaks to me and the parent gives it the not or also speaks. If I compliment a kid (babies are always a soft spot), I direct the compliment to the parent. For one, what the hell would a baby know about it? Two, stranger danger! It might sound a bit paranoid, but as someone that grew up in the 80s and learned about the Adam Walsh story as a child (most kids of that time probably saw it) and had all of those school safety lessons and other tv movies over the years, I just don't think it's good for kids to become comfortable interacting with strangers. Not so afraid that they can't ask for help when they need it in dangerous situations, but not so comfortable that "friendly" smiles and compliments make them vulnerable. So that lady that didn't try to force her kid to be "polite" to the predator sounding, misogynistic AH had the right idea, IMO.
@SLloyd-qb8ktАй бұрын
Yes!!! I sometimes have things I think my neighbor's kids would like (stuffed animals, fast food toys, etc) but I never give it directly to the child. I always speak to the parent and ask if it's something their child might like. I don't want to teach them it's okay to take things from adults without asking their parent first.
@ynmonroeАй бұрын
@@SLloyd-qb8kt Exactly! No with kids that I actually "know", meaning I have a relationship with the parents and the kids have come to know me, I would have as many brakes in place. But even then, I prefer that kids feel comfortable not feeling like they can automatically trust random adults.
@talesfromatiredmind4785Ай бұрын
I wish my mom thought like this but she's always been that woman who would wave and smile at random babies and toddlers in public. Meanwhile I'm next to her uncomfortable because why are you trying interact with a kid you don't know. I know she doesn't have bad intentions but the parents don't know you don't have bad intentions.

Only one I disagree with is the woman who rubbed the chili pepper in the guy's shorts. 1) he's not worth that effort, and 2) if he's really vindictive, he could file a case against her for malicious wounding and cause problems for her that she doesn't need. Women simply need to normalize LEAVING at the FIRST red flag. These men need to be taught that no, we aren't putting up with their abuse anymore, and if they want to have a woman in their lives, they'd better start acting right because we don't need that ish.
@natcl9974Ай бұрын
@@jayogee913 While, I understand where you’re coming from, I think leaving, as I’ve seen from another post pertaining to a lying, cheating, pathetic partner, she said (and I have to agree now after she explained it) that leaving is simply giving him peace and being comfortable doing the same thing to the next woman. We need to show our anger (not our tears) and show them what happens when you play with someone heart. They need to have some sort of repercussions so they don’t do it again and think before doing something like that. And for me personally, I like that the wife put hot pepper on his biker shorts because he could have or already has made her sick philandering all over and giving her something as a result. Married women are at a higher risk of infections because they trust their partners, but those very partners cause such damaging health issues. He needs to be taught a lesson. Women need to be a man’s karma so that this stops for good. There’s too much men out there with too much audacity. We need to change this now. Leaving just let’s get away with Sh!t Scott free
@jayogee913Ай бұрын
@@natcl9974 The only flaw with that line of thinking is that they literally do not care about how we feel. So "showing them" how hurt we are has zero effect on them or their treatment of us. It's best to move on and move up.
