Had to be typo as he neither looked nor acted female. He didnt even notice the mistake till a year or so later. When being carded in a liquor store the clerk looked at the ID and back at my friend a couple times before asking, "Did you have a sex change sir?" We all had a good laugh, and he was pissed to say the least. I guess by this Olympic official guy's standard he would have been eligible to compete with the women.

I believe she truly is a hermaphrodite, and that only the female parts showed outwardly. There is no way she’d test as male otherwise without being transgendered. Thus I do believe she is somehow born both. But this being said, I believe it’s still unfair for her to compete against women having the masculine strength. There are all manner of strange and weird things regarding human sexuality, including the fact that no one is 100% homosexual or 100% heterosexual. In fact, some men who think they are more manly than most may lean more towards homosexuality than other men who don't think that. That's only a small part of what researchers have found out based on hundreds of thousands of test cases. According to the Bible, only Jesus has perfect sexuality; the rest of us all fall short. Christians who condemn the LGBTQIA+ community are directly disobeying what Romans 2:1 says and more so, what Jesus says, to judge not that you be not judged. As a woman who competed in gymnastics I don't think anyone should be boxing for sport! Not even men. It doesn't make sense to beat the crap out of each other and people cheer. Our children now thinks it's fun and funny to beat up people. As a retired PE teacher I saw this first hand. We've gone far from God as a nation! Violence for sport should be banned. But I do think it's ok for women to defend themselves! Because of a dangerous husband I had to take karate to feel safe. Now I dont go around beating people up, it's for protection

I have to disagree with your point about women in combative sports for two reasons. First, 1 Peter 3:4 is not giving a definition of womanhood, but is discussing beauty. Starting at the verse immediately before it and going through verse 4, "Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight." This is about caring who you are before God instead of the vanity of physical appearance. Second, what does the God say about godly manhood? Does it include beating each other up for sport? Sure, men are supposed to protect, but that's a different just like women defending themselves is different from them actively participating in a sport. I am not aware of anywhere in Scripture where we are told that men should or can engage in violent sports. So, by the second argument you gave for women not participating in such sports (the Bible doesn't say "women can participate in violent sports"), I could also say the same for men. Nothing says men or women can, should, or shouldn't participate in such things. That all being said, the first thing for people to do in relation to each other is to care for one another, and this incident at the Olympics was anything but. Every female athlete involved was put in danger so that the feelings of one individual wouldn't be hurt. What about the feelings of the athlete forced to drop out after one hit because her opponent was effectively juicing and allowed into an even not meant for them? The Second Greatest Commandment is nowhere to be seen.

You’re not wrong. The highest goal in boxing seems to be to hit one’s opponent in such a way that their carotid artery is impinged and they lose consciousness-a knockout. Next to that comes making one’s opponent surrender. Wrestling, in the classical sense, is about taking one’s opponent to the floor and pinning their shoulders for a set amount of time. It relies on skill, strength, and flexibility rather than brutality. I’ve always thought boxing repellent. This shameful display in the Olympics just confirmed that thought.

You are wrong about wrestling to an extent because in the bible there's a story about Jacob who encounters a man whom he wrestles with through the night. The man injures Jacob’s hip, but still, Jacob will not let go until the man blesses him. Jacob knew that he wasn’t wrestling a man, but God himself, and refused to let go until He blessed him. This is in fact a biblical example of wrestling. As far as violence, you are also wrong there as well (to an extent) training to fight so you can protect your family for example or fight in wars is actually biblical as well. God sent his people to fight and kill whole nations and peoples countless times so violence and war is biblical and you don't just wake up a warrior without training.

The Angel could’ve touched his hip and ended the fight at any time, but chose to do it after prolonged struggle. Training to defend oneself and one’s family is not sport. It is earnest preparation that I, for one, pray will never need to be deployed. Is wrestling a sport at all? I’m not sure; I do know, however, that is not brutal in the way boxing is.
