Bit of context from the full video: I know this isn't as canonically faithful to Kirby compared to his existing Final Cutter, which is a problem. My comments recommended swapping it out for Sword Kirby's upward slash instead, and while that's outside the video's concept, I do think it's a good idea and would be the best way to handle him next game (assuming they stick with the sword up special at all).

Honestly, current Final Cutter isn't even that accurate to the version from the Kirby games, it's much more similar to Sword's version of it from games like Squeak Squad than the version from the Cutter ability itself (due to lacking the ground combo part of the original move). There's so many better abilities they could swap it out for now, High Jump, Wing, Upward Slash from Sword like you said, maybe Tornado, you name it.

But yea, if they ever wanna give updates to characters in later games, Kirby has a lot more movement based copy abilities that work better

@@MeatSlushie0421 the entire concept of Ganon is flawed. A heavyweight that fights melee, kills early, but at the cost of speed and recovery. The only things I would give him is 8% armor on his grounded side special, make side special not go into freefall, and up special go more horizontal and vertical.

I think they should keep final cutter, but let you cancel the downward slice like with Dedede's Up-B (without the slow landing, that is.) After that, just make the startup quicker and it's good.

Maybe you could have a one-two system: one up-b functions as the upwards slash, has the same power as Upper Cutter and puts you in free fall, unless you act a second time in which as the downwards hit of Final Cutter. If not that, I'm sure there's some way of implementing Upper Cutter into the current Final Cutter.

The thing is, in the recent kirby games, sword kirby has had a move similar to final cutter that would give you the best of both worlds. It would let you do an uppercut with decent height, then if you wanted to and you pressed attack again it would let you slam down in a combo. I dont know why they couldn't give him a similar move in SSBU

They should have made it so that the regular Up-B is cancellable and when you do cancel it, it does the damage of the custom Up-B, but only if you time it right.

I think the one caveat is that with Final Cutter now beginners can to use it on-stage as a long-range projectile move, and Kirby is often a basic beginner character to teach players the game

i don't like that point though, because that's a REALLY bad way of teaching new players about how an *up special* works. if it does a better job at teaching them about using an OK projectile over teaching them about what up specials are MEANT to do, that's a problem

@@MeesterTweester i would NOT call it safe, it's interceptable as hell and really covers no horizontal distance. and yeah, it teaches how up specials have utility on stage. but it doesn't do that well. the most mileage you get out of it is moderate spacing, but up specials aren't typically MEANT for that at all. it's also an awful out of shield move, which is a big part of their on stage utility

The cutter move Kirby has is already super beginner friendly. I mean It can hit multiple times if you're up close to the enemy anyways and it's still shoots a projectile out and I mean a lot of beginners just spam it anyways and even if you're really good at the game it can be annoying to deal with the move. I'm not saying it's hard to overcome the move it's pretty easy, but it can be annoying

Just Make it like Cloud's Up B. Its Simple. Pressing B as it rises slams it down and it decends like normal. The rising part will have less start lag tho

I think in Project M you can cancel it, or maybe it was just that you could use it horizontally. Get rid of some of the kill power and I would be perfectly fine with it. Makes it less predictable, especially if there was an option to do the last hit

lucina, the pits, fox and even wolf are way better beginner friendly charaters, as for each of them up B goes up, side B goes sideways, down B is a counter/reflector to easily teach you this mechanic, neutral B defines their respective kit and is a move that you're pushed to use and their movesets teach you almost all the basic mechanics of the game since almost none of their moves are particularly op in themseves, they need other ones to be really strong, whereas kirby pushes you to only spam up B/down B at low level and then when you go against stronger player you're wondering why it no longer works and you don't know any basic of the game so you're just stuck

It’s a bit too slow for most combos, the end lag and hitbox is pretty bad, and recovery spam is pretty bad. It’s like Chrom up b, and just like Chrom, Kirby’s up is pretty bad

@@absoul112 you use it as a ranging tool to get player away from you. Or if someone is trying to attack you from above you can use if to attack quickly. Yoh can also use it as a foward throw combo at higher percents. And you can also use it as a projectile.
