As much as I enjoy the current adult model, it's nostalgic and looks pretty good, but after watching this it seems like the adult model *really* needs to be updated. It looks very simple, the pup model looks like it fits more with the current game graphics and overall good. It's just rather jarring, the quality between the two. But either way this is one of the best dev teams I've ever seen, despite being rather small. I'm very excited for Saga!

Man the jump in quality from the pup model to the adult model was always kinda yikes, but seeing a progression with pup proportions applied to the adult model highights it even more. This would be a great opportunity to update the adult wolf model - out of all the models in game, it still looks really dated, especially compared to the newer models. I understand it would be a massive pain to do (been there myself) but imo it would be very, very worth it. Adult wolves are literally the stars of the game, and they deserve to look as beautiful as everything else does!

Yes man. I love this game. I am always surprised by the dedication of the team. But this is completely true. The game as a whole is taking huge leaps in quality. And as much as the wolf model is nostalgic. He is increasingly distant from the current game

Yeah, definitely. I've always thought the adult model looked a little aged once the pups first came out, but now it's even more jarring. I would love to see an eventual remodel for the adult, but, as many people have pointed out, this would be very difficult and a huge undertaking that I'm happy to wait for.

the difference in the july and august models is pretty jarring to me, though i do understand the limitations. they look fine from above, so i think it’s something to do with the faces. maybe the details of the eyes and the angularity of the august face?

Yeah. It's the head and face. You called it. The Aug. and adult models have a lower forehead, brighter and sharper eyes, sharper ears (all of the younger pups have a rounded outside of their ear, the Aug. and adults have a much more clearly defined triangle ear). Although I do see some room for tweaking as the Saga and lifecycle come closer to completion. Tweaking the blends to bring the Aug's forehead up a little (if the model structure allows), and easing the transition between puppy eyes (all of the puppy eyes are difficult to discern) and adult eyes (which are bright, sharp, and clear), would do a lot to make the transition less jarring. Not sure what could be done to smooth between the curved puppy ears and the sharp triangle adult ears. I would say "You probably won't notice it in play as you probably aren't staring at your pups' faces", but let's be real, this is the Wolfquest community, they love their wolves and probably stare into their faces every play session.

That would be great! The one thing I've always wanted to see and that has always bothered me about the WQ model--which is otherwise fantastic--is the chest breadth. Wolves have narrow chests (the legs are almost always *under* the forechest, not wider than the ribcage), which makes them look far more graceful than most broad-chested dogs. Wolves in video games always have big square, chunky chests with a large gap between the forelegs, and sadly WQ's wolves do too! A strange quirk that's bugged me for awhile; maybe some day they can fix it, or maybe it can be an individual slider like with size/weight etc. since it does vary.

Yes for a long time there weren't as many good quality wolf games other than wolf quest and I found the model the best there was. Now that I see more animal games come out that have way better canine models in them I find this model quite oddly shaped. It causes the animations also not to be fully accurate. I've wanted a new model for a while. I also don't feel it matches the other animals who were created more accurately.

As an avid player since the original WolfQuest’s early amethyst days… Can I just say how amazing and loved this game is? The progression has been beautifully done and accurate.. Having started originally as just a wolf looking for a partner to the release of slough creek… (I remember the load times of just trying to access the download page.. XD) Then raising your small pups in slough.. Then the beautiful AE release/update.. And NOW it’s slowly coming to the full life circle! The ability to see the pups age before your eyes- to eventually stem out on their own or stick around. It’s amazing and the hype is real! I admire the dedication behind this game.. the quality of its improvement.. Seeing this particular update just really made me think how far this game has come. I’m looking forward to seeing its release and what y’all have in store for us! Thank you soo much!

Is there any way to make the AUG pups have their paws scaled up a bit so it looks like they still have a bit more growing to do? Maybe even stretch the ears from the tips a tiny bit higher? That might help give the impression that they are still goofy looking pre-teens. I'm not sure what else you can really do other than that without making even more fresh models.

Animals get so big so quick. It’s almost too quick. Especially with dogs and cats. Feels like you blink and you miss 3 years. Absolutely love this game and just started getting back into it. I would DIE to see an update to the adult wolf models one day. The jump in quality from pup to adult models is very clear, and I think that once the team has everything they want out, it would be a great thing to revisit!! The only thing I’ve ever had a qualm with in this game is how the animations and models of the adult wolves feel a little stiff, and could use some touching up. The gait of a wolf is much more flexible in the real world than it is in the game, and while it’s true that not Everything is going to be exactly perfect and accurate, it would be so good for game quality and enjoyment. Just think, even better photos! Cooler looking interactions! More immersion! It would be a Massive undertaking, but I think that could quite possibly make it the Perfect game in terms of quality and realism

Love the progress! **suggestions:** would love to see if the pups paws could look bit bigger like that awkward stage they go through lol now the adult model, I love the details and quality put into the wolves, but the head of the model seems high like the neck to the head, usally wolves heads are hung evenly to their back,low (Caz is a good example) sometimes even lower, It doesn't need to be an update for the model itself infact i think adding it as a "Head Slider" tool to making it originally high, low or lower. possibly be in a DLC pack?definitely would be amazing in the meantime

Im so exited for the new pup sizes! I will say that pup-stage 3 have a bit high eye placement, otherwise there is so much improvement! As of the transition to the subadult and adult stages, it would look smoother with an fresh adult model as outcome. The anatomy of the adults are a bit on the older fashion, but I am sure that you already have something planned for the future. I always look forward to the progress you make with this game! I'm so excited for the saga update! I would love to see some changes to the perks system in the future, maybe in regards to how many pups stay with you throughout the years. Understanding how hectic having a large pack might be in the game, a reasonable limit might be required

A little terrifying too... But in real life a full wolf pack is able to take down adults moose and even bison... its going to be soooo fun...but scary too xd

The jump from the older puppy to the like mini adult model was maybe a bit too sudden to look relaistic, the proportions on it also look a bit wonky but i think thats mainly because the adult wolf model is getting to the point where its a bit dated as a model, Regardless awesome job as always i do hope that eventually the adult wolf gets a bit of tlc so the transition from puppy to adult isnt as jarring XD

Some suggestions would be some fixing on the ears on the juveniles since they are weirdly pointed and turned in, and the adolescent model seems to have shrunk its head from the juvi model which makes it really jarring

​@natka7435 yeah rn it just looks kinda tacky, like as a game dev myself I get its a pain to change stuff midway through but you also gotta keep in mind that the main character needs rk fit with the environment and other entities and rn it just doesn't look that great next to the GiM studios puppy model and the GiM studios prey animals
