Lower ball joint needs to come loose. Tie rod end is optional, but makes maneuvering the assembly for access easier.

So if your bearing races look and feel fine how do you feel about leaving them in and just replacing the inners, i heard it both ways, Its ok vs always replace the races, the races looked and felt fine on both of my rangers so i left them in

There’s also a lot of front wheel bearings that come together in hubs. They may have expected that and just got in too deep
