Foden can’t hold a position. Pep Guardiola, who knows his qualities better than anyone, has admitted that publicly. But he’s a potential game changer. Having him in the 10 role is much better for the structure of the team. Gordon can play on the left and Jude can either play 8 or sit on the bench. Nobody is bigger than the team and he has been awful since the first half against Serbia.

Top in the group, clean sheets and 1 freak goal are the positives. The biggest cheer of the night was for when Cole Palmer came on because the fans have been brainwashed by a media that want him to play for reasons that have nothing to do with football, but having been faced with the reality Palmer provided no spark and too had little to offer like the rest of the team, the whole team including Palmer were booed off. For some, every time Palmer got the ball, they expected him to do something only because they have been brainwashed by a media that so desperately want him in the team for, as I said, reasons that have nothing to do with football. But the fact is nothing did happen every single time Palmer got the ball and the opposition then ended up getting the ball back which if it was better opposition, England would have been punished as it happened too often when he got the ball, especially if the opposition were good at keeping possession. And unlike Saka who always had 2 people marking him, the opposition were able to stop Palmer with just one player sent to deal with him. These are the real facts of the game, not the ones brainwashed people felt would take place due to brainwashing. And we are not even talking about Palmer's liability off the ball in taking on defensive responsibilities as a team Saka and Foden understand, but which Palmer has no interest in and does not understand and which a better team will expose and take advantage of as Slovenia did not produce the attacking quality to do. The idea a player that gives the ball away too often with no special attempt made by the opposition to mark him out of the game as Saka had, does not deliver an end product and would then not contribute to defensive responsibilities is what you need to beat a good quality side is a sick joke some people are trying to make.
