How have I never clocked Marisha as Kima? It's funny, if you watch their episode 1-6 retrospective, they show an animatic of a scene from next episode. And Marisha was doing the placeholder voice for Kima.

Yenk vs. Vorugal did actually happen in the campaign, though obviously liberties were taken here to make it work with the TV format. They actually managed to get the two NPC monsters to fight as part of one of their few plans that didn't immediately go to shit and they were waiting in the wings for a more opportune moment to attack, so it was essentially Matt fighting against himself with two giant minis on the battle mat. As Matt himself jokingly said during the campaign episode: "Watch me play with my toys, guys!"

Fun Fact: Aimee Carrero, Adora's VA in She Ra, was several times guest in Critical Role (Campaign 3, Exandria Unlimited, Candela Obscura...) She also voiced the little Ashari girl that Keyleth saves in Season 2 during the attack of Pyrah.

Not to mention, Mary Elizabeth Mcglynn, the voice director of she-ra, is also the voice director of this show, as well as being Zahra in both the original campaign and this series. Also, the DND episode of she-ra had a guest voice director by the name of Sam Riegel. Nate Stevenson himself is also a friend of Critical Role, he and his wife were in a one shot that Sam ran once, as well as a few other things.

They did a really solid job with Vorugal in general, painting him as the classic White Dragon (which, in D&D parlance are often described as being the most bestial and instinct-driven of the Chromatic dragons) while not reducing his personality to ACTUAL non-sentient animal levels. Liam really nailed that portrayal.

Fun fact: In the campaign, the dragon vs. demon fight was actually the plan! They had to condense a lot of scenes to make it work for the show, but originally, the demon had a vestige in its stomach, so they used a spell to pull it into the material plane and near Vorigal's lair because they knew Vorigal would take it as a challenge. So its funny to see how they've had to change the context of things but still get similar results and are able to hit the same beats as the campaign.

This is basically how the Vorugal fight went down in the campaign, except that the party was all there from the start, and they summoned Yenk because he also had a vestige in his possession. They then sat back and watched as Matt narrated the fight between them, then jumped in and finished Vorugal off after Yenk had weakened him.

Hey Mosco! Congrats on the shout-out by Matt, your reactions are fantastic you deserve it. A little heads-up for Episode 6 (No spoilers don't worry), so as you know this show is based on a DnD Campain and the story here is exactly like it was there. Exept for Episode 6 (the second half of the episode) where it was changed quite a bit (from what I heard) from the original. So most of the important stuff happened just in a different order (I believe for a better over-arching story) or just straight up ,,made up for the show". As of Episode 9 even some long time Critters (Critical Role fans) don't know what to expect from the last three episode.

'The wee shits,' eh? Did you know that Vox Machina used to call themselves The Shits, before they had to choose something cleaner for the livestream? But yeah, white dragons are *not* smart. Allura and Kima had a thing, but were not together. Allura employed VM to rescue Kima from the underdark, which they did, but she couldn't stay. She's a paladin of the platinum dragon, she had things to do. Meanwhile, the big monster fight *did* happen, but Scanlan summoned and controlled the demon with magic (because it had swallowed a vestige for Keyleth), and it didn't do nearly as well against a flyer. But if the Fenthras bow gets the kill shot, a tree grows out of the corpse.

I do need to say, I really don't fully understand the change in Zerxus' history one of the key points of his character was weilding divine magic w/o connection to any god. Making him betrayed by a "God above" who lied. That, and the condemning the "Brass Ring," seemed such a shift in his character. It is a bit off and disonant for me.
