Pda: tells you exactly what specifically you need to do, where to go, and what you need to get to go into the plague heart. Anthomnia: proceeds to continuously go to the plague heart area and dying over and over, not bothering to collect resources and building a base, and continuously ignore the pda and would more rather go to areas he cant and dies or just screams at the fish and other stuff that he wouldnt need to scream about if he did what the pda told him to.

I like how the second he installs a horror overhaul he completely forgets all of the games mechanics and stops harvesting or trying to build anything to help him survive😅 he's just running around trying to do everything naked while screaming at shadows in the dark. Also the game kept telling him what he needed to do and how to do it but he was too busy screaming or only heard the last word of every PDA entry. You can also review past PDA notifications

Yeah. Though, based on what we've seen, it also doesn't help that the mod just doesn't seem to have a good sense of pacing or tension-building in the first place. It's just a constant flood of enemies and jumpscares the moment you stick your nose out. I imagine the people who don't run around jumping at shadows are just gonna find it obnoxious more than scary instead.

This mod assumes you already have exceptional skill in the game and throughs you right into the deep end of both the game and the new mechanics by teleporting late game enemies to you. It floods you with information and objectives with little sense of priority between them and hardly gives you the time or ability to explore. From a conceptual and mechanical perspective, this mod is great. From a gameplay and story perspective, it leaves much to be desired.

⁠@@thedarkbardyeah, it just seems like they threw their scariest things way too early, if everything was fine but a couple fish were infected and perhaps the watcher dude was around it would feel unnerving on the slightly different things, then when you get comfortable the game shakes at around day 20 and the plague rains from the sky, this is forecasted by the pda mentioning dangerous rain, after this the warmers teleporting in and occasional crab squid will start appearing and get more and more common. Also the insta-kill by that teleporting dude is just stupid, it’s annoying rather than scary, jumpscares are best at the height of tension and when they’re silent and you just feel your body freeze as you go “Oh no.” Plus the pda being more human and saying “we” takes away from the feelings of being alone without backup.

One thing that's very underrated is the air bladder. Like, why don't people use it more often? It boosts you up multiple times faster than the seaglide, and when its air runs out before you reach the surface, then just use the seaglide for the last few meters. Also, it greatly saves on seaglide battery that way.

i think a lot of people do. however, its not often talked about because most people who post videos and get popular enough for the subnautica community to see are absolute legends at being stupid. Or insanely good, so much so that they have a base and ways to get water other than bladderfish long before they run out of disinfected water from the Aurora. So, they never pick up a single bladderfish, or they think that the air bladder is just another air tank, which it sorta is.

The airbladder is so op. I was able to literally skip everything and just go straight to prawn suit and beat the whole game because it let me dive about 300m with a rebreather without dying. I could explore the whole entire mushroom forest with just it and a seaglide. It is a quick way to travel about 200m up.

The problem is that the air bladder is highly situational. In a base game where there are tons of things to get distracted by, the air bladder is only useful if a) you catch your O2 in a range where you can’t seaglide to the top but can still survive [so, mostly before the ‘oxygen’ audio warning], b) aren’t in a cave system/ have unobstructed view of the surface, and c) don’t have to move away from anything. And if you’re monitoring your O2 anyways, why not just seaglide up and save yourself an inventory slot in the early game? And by the time you have a sea moth or Prawn suit and have a bit more wiggle room for item management, air bladders are completely useless anyways. Overall, it’s a kinda niche item that uses valuable resources and inventory space early game that needs to have attention given just to it in a game that is kinda famous for being distracting in a variety of ways. And mid-late game it becomes downright useless.

As far as the new sub goes, It's not a plane. Modders still haven't figured out how to do aero-quatic vehicles. The Manta works more like a Glider when in the air. The deeper you go up from, the higher it'll go, meaning a longer Glide.

Love Red Plague, might be one of the best Subnautica mods I've ever seen, but dude, and I know other people have said it here too, PLEASE turn the shaders off. Shaders are wonderful tools, great for the player, but we cannot see ANYTHING for a massive amount of the video, even WITH the flashlight out. I know some mod devs insist on some stuff not being shown off yet, and that's fine, if that's the case please say so in the first place, but we could not see the Plague heart if you saw it at all, I only caught the FAINTEST glimpse of the Plague Leviathan for a brief second and the pose it was in made it hard to tell what I was even looking at...If ya wanna use em, fix the brightness in editing just so we can SEEEEE, bro.

Man, this video is packed with goodies but man oh man I don't think my thassalophobia can take it...I say after watching the last two the whole way LOL I don't really like the shaders added the game. While it does look pretty gorgeous, I'll give you that, I agree with another commenter that the visibility on the video has taken a real bad hit. In darkened areas at my brightest settings it's harder to discern what is going on, especially in frantic escape moments like the beginning of the video. Still! Excited to see where the series goes. Commenting mid way bc I just needed to mention it
