Thio proved a long time ago he doesn't mind shamelessly trolling whilst sporting his real mug to us all. I believe it was his first viral vid that says it all, referring to his "Make your internet faster for free!" vid which to someone who doesn't know what their doing could seem plausible and according to the comment section of that vid, I believe quite a few people actually tried following his advice. Anyway, it garnered him a ton of hate which he simply brushed off as if it were nothing. He seems more serious these days but you just never know with this guy...

love LG monitors, the only thing I hated on their monitor is the crappy power adapter always breaking up a year or later of use. so if you have some sort of flickering issue, monitor powering off randomly and no power, its always the power adapter's fault. well at least the power adapter is easily replaceable so its just like a minor issues that I have, I usually replace this with a better power adapter, something like a power brick from my older laptop chargers were actually a good candidate replacement since its the same voltage that monitor uses (19v).

Nano-IPS and Regular IPS difference is noticable then. I thought it would be slightly better
@kvetinky2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, Nano ips do usually have significan’tly better response, worse contrast/ black levels, less backbleed and mediocre white uniformity. I have one 27GP850. the contrast really sucks, almost tn-like. White uniformity is below average. Accuracy is okay with sRGB mode but, they do look washed out. Stock accuracy is meh, definitley not accurate. But, relative enjoyable over-saturation. HDR sucks, it doesn’t even support local dimming. The monitor stand is awfully large. So, Nano ips is overall slighly better than ips. Also, 27GP850 cost now less roughly $300. Which is a great deal for what it is.

I got this monitor. The SRGB mode is decent, but in some circumstances it makes colors appear washed out. My main issue with this monitor is that in dark/shadowed areas and night scenarios in games the image is uncharacteristically and unexpectedly dark and it's really hard to see details. I've tried cranking the black level compensation up to max, but it doesn't help that much. I'm also using the ICC profile from Rtings and I don't notice much difference from the stock calibration. The darkness issue may be due to the monitor's poor contrast ratio, but my previous monitor was a TN panel, which also had poor contrast and I didn't have this issue. It's a shame because if it weren't for this darkness issue I wouldn't be considering returning this monitor. Anyone else experience this darkness issue?
@letalmike3 жыл бұрын
Dark level on this new LG panel is on par if not a smidge better with Sammy G7 wich is a high-end VA panel,so why the complaints? If dark level were wrong like any other IPS panels in the market today,you should seen more grays not blacks. Poor IPS contrast? Maybe,but nothing that NVCP or Radeon CP cannot calibrate properly in the color menu. Stop using monitors menu for tuning image,use instead direct video driver tuning via your graphics software,it will get you PROPER result.
@lostrelokos58562 жыл бұрын

I really don't agree with your take on the HDR Performance... I mean you clearly said that the performance is not right up there but i would rather say that to an Odyssey G7... I'd rather call those HDR400 monitors with IPS panels (thus pretty limited Contrast) products, which will have solid SDR performance and overall picture quality. Yes, there might be scenes where HDR enabled might produce a more impressive picture but due to the sheer hardware incapability to properly display HDR there also will be many cases in which it would look better in SDR... Calling something somewhat usable HDR with a 1000-1500:1 contrast is not necessarily wrong but in my opinion is not appropriate and just ruins the reputation of actual HDR for people that don't know actual HDR.
