The huge difference between the G7 and BRICS is that the G7 nations are more or less aligned on everything, geopolitical, social, economic ect. There are differences between them, but everyone is pretty tight. With BRICS its kinda not like that at all. It only exists as a grouping as a counter and they dont have much in common other than that. And with the admission of other countries, feels less like a counter to the G7 and more like a new APEC tbh
@awijaya2116Ай бұрын
Yes, and even when there is alignment between BRICS countries there is no guarantee that they will cooperate. Authoritarian governments won't have an issue backstabbing another authoritarian government. At best you can argue that where BRICS has common interests they will cooperate, and that cooperation stops as soon as the common interests do. The issue is that humans are not rational and authoritarian leaders get more and more irrational the longer they are in power, so even this is a poor basis to build an alliance on.
@testacalsАй бұрын
@@awijaya2116 This westoid smugness of acting like their countries are so free and democratics and listen to their people while global south countries are authoritarian back stabbing nations that can't do shit together is so cringe. They are not a single hegemony. They are actual nations with actual sovereignty with actual willingness to fulfill their interests.

We have such a bad president that they still very much wanted to have Putin in SA when BRICS came here last time. But he knew that Putin would be arrested and so urged him not to come and then told us that "arresting Putin would be a declaration of war" - the irony. And at the summit now, Cyril said of Russia that they are "a valued friend and ally of SA" Reminder that we are also the country that remained "Neutral" about the Russia/Ukraine conflict

The only reason why us Indians aren't committed to either of the groups 1. The west doesn't sees us like a partner but like a lesser thing. Plus the endless hypocrisy in their policies are hindering us from joining west. Just look at Canada they can profile people on Indian soil and allowed t3r4øríßtß to live freely there but when a person gets offed in Chanda due to gang violence they are blaming India because he is a wanted criminal here. And this is just one example. And due to these general public in India absolutely hate US and western governments not the people but the governments. 2. We aren't committing on Eastern alliance because we have border issues with China and we have a lot of trading with US and West. If the border conflict is resolved India - China friendship can be something really huge something similar to pre colonial age. So as of now , we can go to the side which is offering us the better deal.
