Recently, I was invited to inaugurate a store that, though small in the space it occupies for now, has a plan that’s grand enough to take the traditional flavours of Karnataka across Bengaluru and beyond. Out here, I tasted dishes like the haalu mennasu saaru, nuchinna unde, majjige huli, baale yele idli, gojju avalakki, and even their version of the Tirupati ladoo. An initiative of folks passionate about propagating hitherto unseen (in eateries) Karnataka delicacies, and Adukale Foods, I hope they are able to sustain and take forward their delicious vision. Do check them out at Banashankari, South Bengaluru.

Nuchchina unde is also a farmers dish. When the Togari kaalu is dried and ground to make the Bele some of them crack and won’t be good to preserve for long. So the cracked togari bele is used to make the unde, steamed and consumed. Nice to know it’s available in a shop now

Not withstanding fancy restaurants in Delhi Bombay my Favourite food city is Bangalore, what I have noticed here is that even small eateries are so professional n proud of what they do n provide the quality food with decent hygiene.....I think it's south indian culture itself they are much more grounded n customer oriented than their north indian counterparts .....( it's a very generalised statement having living in Punjab but I could be wrong too in some specific outlets n it could be vice versa there )

Good afternoon dear Kripal - Welcome back to India 🇮🇳. I agree whenever I travel for a long International business tour , I yearn to have some south india home cooked food . I like the concept of the eatery and wonderful to watch you inaugurate the outlet and also being their chief guest . The medicinal concoction is something I would like to try . It would be good to translate what’s an Avallaki Majjigi Hole . Is it like a Poha and Kadi ? The Idli seems to be good with the chutney . I love the Neivedhyam style Sakara Pongal . The mixed lentils steam dish seems to be interesting. The Majjige Huli resembles our More Kootu . The eatery should have made you more comfortable by offering you a seat and then relish the food . Too much crowd and kudos to your patience . These are basic etiquettes . Bharat could have been a bit more considerate . Anyways you are a thorough gentleman 💯💯💯 Looks like they have the whole family fans galore . Some folks promoting their channel . Looks like their packaged food seems to be a hit and if boss approves it then it has to be super good . Thoroughly enjoyed the vlogs . Just that the whole event could have been better managed . Anyways I am so happy that you enjoyed the morning breakfast at Old Bangalore . I wish them all the very best and take the brand to a global level . Take care , stay safe and God bless ! Lots of love and respect 🤗🤗🤗❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Hi Rajesh, it was an enjoyable morning. Didn't miss a chair at all in the excitement of a new store opening. Times like these, it can be rather challenging to manage a crowd. But I was very comfortable. Yes, the pongal and huli was my favourite too, the latter similar to a mor kuzhambu. 🙃

I used to buy Adukale products earlier but since they started using palm oil for all their snacks, stopped them completely. At the price point, they sell, they need to make sure snacks are prepared in the traditional way.
