Jenna Munger loves singing at her North Carolina church. But when a fellow parishioner followed her into the bathroom to criticize her outfit and physical appearance, it led to an emotionally painful confrontation for Jenna. Model Natalie Hage had to deal with something similar during a flight; she saw the passenger sitting next to her texting with a friend about her appearance. Natalie told Inside Edition, “You don't deserve to be made to feel terrible about yourselves just because you exist.” #InsideEdition

I know men get body shamed but this is the perfect example of how much more pressure people put on women to look a certain way. As someone who is fat, I hate the way I look, I want to be healthy and I’m trying to make changes but I don’t get the hatred. Smoking cigarettes is unhealthy but people don’t have hatred for smokers because people don’t care if you’re unhealthy. They care if you’re sexually attractive and that’s truly disgusting!
@John-ls4xh
@John-ls4xh Жыл бұрын
As someone who's overweight I have to agree....legit there's nothing wrong with pointing out that carrying on more weight than you should is not good...but people point it out for the wrong reasons Because they want people to fit in their own standards of beauty...and not because of health factors....yet other spectrums of unhealthy aren't pointed out...like I'll see people who say they skip a meal in front of their acquaintances or starve themselves for the sake of losing weight and no one bats an eye or point out how unhealthy it is... Or someone who may smoke may not be berated as much because in pop culture it's seen as attractive when it has many health risks such as lung cancer and COPD later in life... Or on the psychological spectrum when people insult themselves such as calling themselves 'idiot' we don't see people pointing out how psychologically and spiritually unhealthy that is...or mentally beating themselves up... We see people encouraging disordered eating behaviors...such as dieting which encourages you to limit your caloric intake severely without discretion from a medical professional which is very dangerous if you don't know what you're doing...instead of making lifestyle changes and a balanced diet that is nutritional and in a healthy caloric range Being underweight as a result of eating disorders, or being at any weight in general and limiting foods/starving, smoking, binge eating, sedentary lifestyle, obesity.... it's all unhealthy... And insulting people because of their weight isn't healthy... because it makes them lose weight for all the wrong reasons for other people who have insulted them.... We have to discern the difference between insulting people because of their weight and pointing out how unhealthy obesity and being overweight can be...but we can't ignore other unhealthy factors in not just America but in the world Sir there's nothing wrong with trying to be healthy but do it for the sake of health because you're amazingly created by God no matter what...not because of your outward appearance:) God Bless you sir

Every where I look I see a cigarette or vape in someone's mouth and no one bat's an eye, but when someone has a body that looks anything other than a barbie doll people complain. I have been a skeleton my whole life and I'm constantly being looked at or told to eat more or compared to other people. I have been assumed to be a drug addict or having an eating disorder but I can't gain enough weight. If I do gain weight I don't look healthy either

I tried that before with this kid at my school because he was lazy, ate to much, and never worked out and I even offered to work out with him. He got super mad at me claiming I was fat shaming him because I was encouraging him to exercise. I’m not saying it would be like that for everyone, if your willing to eat healthy and exercise than I’ll encourage you, but if your just going to be lazy and do nothing about it, then that’s a whole different story. I hate body shamers! I've been abit chubby growing up and because of these horrible people, I developed body dysmorphia and bad eating habits, starving myself at times just so I can "fit in" the standards of what society views as acceptable weight/looks. It was horrible.. I even had a seizure at home after working out too much and was rushed to the hospital. Guys, be kind to people, what you say has adverse side effects to people who you may not know is going thru a tough time. And always go by this rule, "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all.' It's that simple.

Then when I hit puberty, they said that I looked fat and was eating unhealthy (even though I was eating whatever they would buy) Now at the age of 24, they tell me that I’m too skinny again. I can say now that I’ve learned to just not listen to them and to only work on my body for myself, but I can also say that growing up, I felt super pressured to meet their standards and I felt like I never could
