As you liked this version, I suggest you check out the same track from. One Night in Dublin (A tribute to Phil. RIP) Gary (Rip) & Scott smash this song live, also other Lizzy members participate Gary & Robbo are awesome on Emerald.

The end is a tribute to famous Irish people.Van Morrison,George Best,James Joyce,Oscar Wilde, J M Synge,W B Yeats and Brendan Behan .

Roisin Dubh is pronounced Ro-sheen Doo… It’s all about Celtic mythology… until the end when Phil mentions contemporary Irish talent - Van (is The) Man, Brendan (where have you) Behan, Georgie (knows) Best…. Etc…

Gary Moore and Scott Gorham are playing duel leads. Great album from the boys.

It is definitely Gary Moore. Not many people were playing guitar like that back in 1979. And however good the guitar players in Thin Lizzy were, Brian Downey was still probably the best player in the band. Musical Valhalla, or perhaps Tir na nOg, if you are Irish.

This was Phil lynott love letter to his homeland ,the 4 th of January marked the 36 anniversary of Phil lynott death ,so it cool timing on the video , the middle part consists of some Irish folk/ traditional music ( Danny boy , the masons apron etc ) but beautifully played By Gary and Scott ,for some more check out.... COWBOY SONG ..some blazing hot 🔥 solos on this track( Brian robberston and Scott ),I love Brian Downey s drumming on BAD REPUTATION and MASSACRE definitely check them out too. Brian is still touring with his show alive and dangerous I saw them twice before lockdown and they are excellent and they are touring this year too .!! great channel 🤘

Black rose is a term used to refer to Ireland.... Might be wrong but I think years ago in parts of Ireland when the British ruled Irish people weren't allowed to call Ireland ireland so they said "roisin dubh" instead... Which means black Rose in the gaeglic langauge.

I can't think of a single Thin Lizzy album I don't love, though I reckon Johnny the Fox might be my favourite if only because of the range of musical styles on display.

There most successful song was Boys are back in town. That being said I discovered this band by accident years ago there was a program on called Naughty Bits aired after the Benny Hill show. They would occasionally have music groups on and Thin Lizzy was one of them. They played a song called Rosalie the rest is History. As I continued to enjoy them I decided that Jailbreak and Cowboy Song are my two favorite

IMO Gary Moore’s staple Lizzy song. Phil’s Irish “poem” at the end is phenomenal

When it comes to Thin Lizzy, their later material tends to be heavier than the earlier stuff. Their final album, Thunder and Lightning is verging on heavy metal and is my personal favourite. Thunder and Lightning, Heart Attack and Holy War are all stand outs.

I will check the songs out. Can't wait to listen to more from them

Thunder & Lighting is my least favourite due to the fact it verges on metal although Holy War is one of my favourite Lizzy songs. Top 3 albums, Black Rose, Jailbreak & Vagabonds of the Western World. But to be fair I do like them all.

@@johnfox9482 I'm a metal head, so that is why it is my favourite. I also prefer Renegade and Chinatown. Black Rose is very good, as are Jailbreak and Bad Reputation. But that pretty much ends it for me. The others have a few good songs here and there, but there are too many songs that are mellow, psychadelic or jazzy for the albums to be of interest to me.
