I dont want to judge it as ‘it wonderful’ or ‘you need lessons’ or something because what I have listened waas not a singer’s talent it was a complate orginial art that I can never hear anywhere else so it was a unique experiance. I can listen beyonce whenever I want but your voice is a hidden treasure and tonight you let me hear it. Super thank you! ❤

I totally understand what you’re saying and feeling, Lana. I’m a guy, several years ago I used to have some thoughts on how my last romance had ended and if I was loved the way I loved that girl. For that case, the answer was “no”. But then I realized that even if we think that we’re loved “not enough” or “not the way we want”, like I first was thinking, it’s not necessarily because the other person was not serious/irresponsible etc. Everyone loves the way they can, and it may severely upset us, but everything is defined by our temper, psychological features, love languages, parents' love expression etc. So, for example, in a relationship I need hugs, and I would feel unloved in a situation when a potential partner doesn’t like it. Of course, it doesn’t mean that there are no people who use us, treat not seriously, but this realization made me feel easier after the heartbreak. There are many of us who feel lonely and have no love life at the moment, but it doesn't mean that we can't find anyone in the future or live our single life happily. Hugs for everyone and much love:)

I have been in a rock bottom quite lately. Dealing with unusual levels of anxiety and suicidal thoughts. And also having to deal with the academic pressure of being the eldest, gifted kid. I can't talk to my parents or anyone else about it. And I constantly wonder if it will ever get better. But your videos help me calm down my panic attacks. Your voice, the way you articulate your thoughts, the setting, you, just everything, it has given me a ray of hope. It's 2:43 am here in India, and I can't sleep, although I have an exam to take tomorrow. So, I came here, and dear Lana, you instantly put a small smile on my face. Thanks

This is one of the truest statements about reality and existence. All life, in the purest sense, is the way in which the universe has come to express itself in a form capable of experiencing, learning and knowing itself if only in a tiny place for a short moment within itself, drifting in its own vastness of space and time. In this way all things are connected by an inextricable kinship. This is possibly the most beautiful thing I have ever experienced, learned and came to know.
@JamieAsareZiegler4 ай бұрын
@MinahilFatima-hc2qw I think of it as a spark of the eternal. Some may view it in terms of an immortal soul, some may have a different understanding-but it’s something that exists within us and yet connects us to something so much larger than ourselves. I think the more we cultivate our inner virtues and break down the barriers between ourselves and whatever that spark is, the more brightly it shines from us. The more we focus on worldly things and our own ego, the more it’s obscured from view. It’s easy to think of it as a lantern and the light, where petty and trivial fixations cloud our lanterns and prevent the light from shining through. Anyway, with some people, it’s really easy to see that light. I can’t speak for anyone but myself, but that’s what I think of in the sense of the original statement: in you can be seen things that transcend the material. I hope you don’t mind me butting in, but I think about this stuff a lot.
@JamieAsareZiegler4 ай бұрын
@MinahilFatima-hc2qw Awwe, thank you. But I’m nobody, I promise. I spent my day shoveling horse manure in Western Sweden. And the lantern metaphor comes from the teachings of the Baha’i Faith, so I can’t take any credit for it: “Man must be a lover of the light, no matter from what dayspring it may appear. He must be a lover of the rose, no matter in what soil it may be growing. He must be a seeker of the truth, no matter from what source it come. Attachment to the lantern is not loving the light.” ~ ‘Abdu’l-Bahá As for the first part, I can only offer this: when I struggle to see the light in me, I tend to find it the most easily through helping others. I find it…but then I also realize that it doesn’t belong to me at all. It’s when I feel the most like myself and the least of my “self”.
@JamieAsareZiegler4 ай бұрын
@MinahilFatima-hc2qw I’m sorry! Sometimes I lose people with my wording. Why don’t I try another quote that may put it better than I did? “Be not the slave of your moods, but their master. But if you are so angry, so depressed and so sore that your spirit cannot find deliverance and peace even in prayer, then quickly go and give some pleasure to someone lowly or sorrowful, or to a guilty or innocent sufferer! Sacrifice yourself, your talent, your time, your rest to another, to one who has to bear a heavier load than you-and your unhappy mood will dissolve into a blessed, contented submission to God.” ~ ‘Abdu’l-Bahá And I think you put that beautifully, about essences. People tend to be more occupied with outer forms than inner meanings.

I'm literally the same age as you and struggle with the same things. The thing that helps me daily is accepting the concept of destiny. Just like we don't choose whether it rains tomorrow or not we can't choose the twists and turns of life because they are external of us. All we can do is to choose how to respond. I might never achieve things I dream of with all my heart, but if at the last moments of my life I'll be able to say "I did as much good as I could" that will console me greatly. That there was a purpose to all of this.♥

I'm not happy to admit that as soon as I feel like someone may abandon me (friend, family, crush, etc.) I fade myself out of their life slowly. I choose lonliness and its safety over possible connection and its uncertainty that I desperately need. I've improved, but still have a long way to go. I can't fight my need for connection forever.

you are so right about the religion part because i am Muslim and my beliefs have gotten me through everything in life and i know without a doubt that they will in the future aswell no matter how bad life gets. Two core beliefs that help me through hardships are 1- as Allah said in the quran not once but twice side by side "verily, with hardships comes ease" "and with hardships comes ease" 2- this life is a test for the next life so whatever hardships come in life, i will be rewarded for them in the next so its all worth it.

Lana, I love your courage and relate to a lot of what you shared. Especially the one about loneliness- I’ve never been in a relationship. I will say, as a Christian, my relationship with God is the most precious thing and the solace I find in Jesus’ love for me is so comforting when I feel lonely. And yes, the community I have with fellow believers is a bond like no other, even across countries and cultures. I encourage you to keep asking questions and being curious, as I’m sure you can’t help but be :) I highly recommend the book Evidence that Demands a Verdict if you have questions about Christianity, although simply reading the Gospels is also a wonderful place to start :) Praying for you ❤️

Last part was especially courageous to me. Singing alone for others used to be something I was always ashamed to do, I am also the kind of person that sings all the time but you know, “for fun” so whenever I had to sing smth for real I was always very scared. I am in an acting school so I had to break that fear, even tho it’s still in me I def made some progress. I could see u break through that comfort zone as if it was glass, you did it! U didn’t have to, you could have just deleted that part or not prove anything but you decided to make us a kind of people you feel comfortable around and be vulnerable. Thank you for that. Social anxiety has been my worst enemy throughout my youth, it made me very depressed as a teenager but now at 22 I can say it is only maybe 15% of what it used to be. So everyone that is struggling very hard with it now, I want to tell you it can get sooooo much better even though you can't imagine it. Just widen your comfort zone one little step at a time. But tbh sometimes you have to be uncomfortable even if it feels terrible... otherwise you probably won't get better.

I think this is what you meant by "being not been loved by a man" for your soul looks for someone that can go down with your depth. Also, the challenges of being physically attractive is that living with the doubts of " Am I merely desired and wanted but not loved?

You''re so brave, to talk about things you're embarrassed or insecure about! Ummm ... it's hard for me to admit that sometimes, I don't feel very much in touch with reality and life just feels like a book I'm reading or a movie I'm watching. Like I go through the motions, play the game, do things I enjoy, pray and believe sincerely, love deeply, act as a carer, simultaneously feeling distant and unattached. This feeling may be accentuated today by being unwell with a virus, which is why I will be brave enough to share it instead of deleting.

Oh, I loved this episode Lana. There is always so much to relate to when it comes to your videos, but this one was one of the most honest and raw episodes. I loved the song and your voice, it's so calming, keep on singing for us, please ♥

I like Lana's singing voice and given the content on her channel, she might have a talent for writing lyrics.
