Strangers say the darndest things! Really though, some of the comments we get are hilarious. As a general rule: if you wouldn't say it to a straight couple, don't say it to us!
If you want to hear more about people's reactions, check out our coming out stories.

I liked the answer someone said when asked, “ Who’s the man in the relationship?” The answer back was, “ When you use chopsticks, which one is the fork?”🥢🍴👭😂

I've been an out lesbian for 40+ years (time flies), heard virtually all that you mentioned and more & yet, the comments always come as such a surprise. The real indicator that we are integrated into the larger culture will be when the comments don't happen. I think that's a few more decades from now. But, what really prompted me to comment about is gaydar. My two daughters, both conceived and raised in lesbian households, have the best gaydar of anyone I've ever run across. They're both straight & about your same ages now, but, even in grade school, years before their peers had any conscious recognition of their LGBTQ identities my girls would come home from school and talk about one or another classmate who was gay. It would often take some conversations before I could figure out if the child in question was talking about themselves or just my daughters speculating/knowing. I felt like I was continuously reminding them to let their peers come out in their own time (often years later), that my daughters should just wait to be overt, supportive, allies for their friends only after the LGBTQ kids were ready. Over the years, I can't think of a single example of when their gaydar was wrong. We, LGBTQ people, see the world differently (and therefore behave differently), can't always pin down exactly how but, from the time we were born the signs are there.... we're special!

Woah I love this comment so much! That is such an excellent scenario for people to grow up with superior gaydar😍 I can only imagine what those parenting moments were like... "hey, you're definitely right about your classmates, but they might not even know yet!" 😂

I asked a friend why when he 1st saw me and my gf holding hands, he said are you guys twin? He said in his head it was a 50/50 decision on what to say and both might comes out rude. He was sure that i'm gay due to the hand hold but he didnt want to ask. So he asked a safe questions (are you guys twins) in hoping that I would give him the answer to justify his assumption in head without him coming out as rude or oblivious.

Omg I love this video lmao.. People ask some crazy questions.. There's no certain way a person has to look. I've been with my wife for 12 years and married 11 yrs. She is bi and Im lesbian, we both have long hair and we don't look any different than anyone else. My family was great with my coming out ( my mom said it's about time you came out I knew it for years lmao).. My wife's family weren't happy but it's her choice to make.. You love who you love!! So thank you for this great video, can't wait to see what the next ones about!! Have a great day ladies..☺☺☺

On a vacation in Mexico as my platonic girl friend and I walked through the airport, we kept getting asked ( by men 🤨 ) if we were married. Then at the grocery store back at home, my wife and I get asked by strangers if we're sisters, or the best one was, if my wife is my mother...I'm 3 years older than my wife and we look nothing alike. 😖

I have a cousin who I grew up with as if we were siblings. She was a twin, but not my twin. She never held hands with her twin brother even when they were tiny, although sometimes she and I would hold hands until we were nine, and then it started to feel weird, so we stopped doing it, except when one of us was very scared or sad or something. For what it's worth, I never held hands with her twin either.

Another great video girls! Some of these are hilarious (and absurd!!) 🙈 I was once refused entry to a gay club in London because I didn't look "gay" enough! *sigh* The "are you sisters?" is a classic, me and my girlfriend have gotten a fair share of those! Gotta love it when people insist on telling you how similar you both look when newsflash....you look nothing alike!!!! 😂🙈 ps: loved Sadie's "yes there are a lot of emotions but we do that on purpose" 😂 damn right we do!! ❤️❤️❤️

Hi guys! I stumbled across your videos in the beginning by accident and as I have watched you guys over time I find it as a privilege that you share your stories of friendship, love and life. I love how you both respect each other and in turn have taught us “the viewers” how to respect you guys as healthy educated individuals that so happened to be with one another. I am a very private person so this is a big deal for me to post my thoughts, however, I am moved by what I have seen and along with so many others wanted to show my gratitude and appreciation. Thinking back to your past post you brushed a little on your first kiss, but what was it like after you made love? I don’t want sexual details. I would love to hear your individual thoughts of that first experience on one of your future vlog. For example, after my first time with a woman I thought the “Rapture “ actually came and left me behind because the sun was bright orange that day and the world seemed to stood still in silence. It was the most powerful day of my life and at the same time scary because I realized I had the strength to choose my chosen destiny. Goodness that’s a little dramatic....lol...but that was my experience. Btw, I read one of the other comments and I love the chopstick analogy on which one of you guys is the man in the relationship! Take good care and continue to be an inspiration to each other! Mahalo🤙

Ahhh my favs on a Sunday... Good way to end the week.... Some rather absurd questions that get asked.... Lol... It's funny how people always "know it" after the fact... People cheat whether they Bi, Gay, straight... Whatever.. Down to the people involved and their relationship... Besides me being Bi, my one brother is Gay, and he also became Vegan.. He was asked is it because you Gay... Hmmm.. Anyway ladies loved this video, love you girls.. Dankie dames 💕🌼🇿🇦... AND on a good note!! Awesome game USWNT 🇺🇸... Love CP23.. My fav player... Strangely, I've been treated poorly at a bar/restaurant when I was out with my sister (who I am NOT physically affectionate with at all), they assumed we were girlfriends. It was obvious without them saying so, the waiter and 2 other tables of people kept giving us disaproving/dirty looks (anyone not straight from a conservative town knows THAT look), and the service at our table was slower than at the others who had the same waiter. But when I go out with my best friend, who I am super affectionate with (my mom even thought we were dating for a really long time), nobody has ever treated us with such disdain as that one time I was out with my sister. So weird. Still can't quite figure that out. I think it's maybe because my best friend's personality has a much larger presence and people know instinctively they're going to get an earful if she thinks they need to be put in their place. 😂

My now wife and I met in high school. I was my basketball coaches teacher aid and she was in his English class. She was crying about something so when I walked passed I put a note on her desk attempting to comfort her. We talked on the phone and hung out for about 3 months. I was dating a boy. One night she kissed me at a stop sign when I was taking her home. Heart racing but panicking I sorta separated myself from her for about 2 years on and off as I was leaving for college. Found myself a bit more dated 2 girls and then when home for spring break. She was also in town lived right up the road from me. Left a note on my car to call her. We have been together now 13 years and reconnected at 19. There’s more intermittent details obviously laid in there but this is the shortest version. I love our love story. I proposed to her far before marriage was legal - and we have lived together since we were 20. 😃

I was called the d-word back in middle school (I think that it was 7th grade, and imagine a 14 year old, asking what that word means). The friend was dealing with his own closet issues, and posssssibly confused at the time. As I explore my gender identity more deeply, it seems oddly on the nose. He's now got a husband (to the best of my knowledge, at least half of that friend group ended up coming out), and it seems like such a random thing to ask about it.

I have a twin sister a very identical one.. But we never hold hands and we barely hug maybe occasionally. 😂 😂 😂. We are not that close enough to the point we just surprised each other on the events in our lives.. People sometimes our not sensitive enough towards someone's feelings.. They're just talked like stray bullets not knowing if its good or bad.. They just dont care.. Unsolicited as they say.. But good thing you're able to handle everything in most positive, easy, calm as you can.. Hardwork to ignore though.. As long as you were both happy.. That's all that matter.. Fair play to them coming out as a Lesbian couple. In life if you are a gay man or lesbian women. Not everyone is going to be jumping over the rainbow with joy. Obviously it's great that the world is changing and becoming more accepting of the gay and lesbian community. But at the end of the day lovers will be lovers and hatters will be hatters. That's life for you. I wish them all the best with their relationship. They should just enjoy life have fun with each other. Don't pay any attention to the negative people.

@@HannahSadie oh and I saw another comment mention their country...I am from Bangladesh... which is actually a moderately conservative south asian nation..to a point where most people aren't even aware of the LGBTQ+ community (mostly elders) and also are mostly homophobic. So I think in our culture the idea of homosexual relation doesn't come across people's mind usually. In fact... though I hate to admit it...during 2013/14 (i was 12/13) I used to be partly homophobic myself. But as I grew up my thoughts and realization changed. My sister believed she's asexual biromantic (she's young and still isn't sure about her sexuality so thats how she terms it that she feels she is so) and i feel I am bi. So definitely we are kinda different from our society's usual culture but that doesn't affect us on how we show affection to each others as sisters 😇 P.s This turned out to be a long reply xD But I felt like I should clear the atmosphere in context to our actions for better understanding of the matter. And it's kinda really sweet of you guys to go through almost all of the comments and try to reply to them 😇

Most of these assumptions come from the hetero-normative education we get. You are being taught that a relationship is always between a man and a woman, so there always has to be a man in every realationship, even if it's between 2 women. Have you ever asked yourself if the person who says (s)he knew you were gay might not be straight and used gaydar?
