There is a Chinese proverb that goes, "Seeing is believing". It is better to experience it yourself than to read other people's reports. China has a vast territory, and the culture, diet, living habits, and customs of the east, west, south, and north are very different. There are eight major cuisines in China: Lu cuisine (Shandong), Cantonese cuisine (Guangdong), Chuan cuisine (Sichuan), Xiang cuisine (Hunan), Ming cuisine (Fujian), Su cuisine (Jiangsu), Zhe cuisine (Zhejiang), and Hui cuisine (Anhui). In fact, the beef and mutton of Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia are also unique. I believe that most Westerners know nothing about Chinese geography except Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen. For example, there are many different cooking methods for dumplings in China, including steamed dumplings, boiled dumplings, and fried dumplings. In addition, there are also great differences in the habits of eating dumplings. Some like to eat with vinegar, some like to add soup, and some don't need any condiments. Many foreigners cannot distinguish between wontons and dumplings. Wontons must have soup, but they are usually made of fresh meat and a small amount of vegetables. There are many kinds of fillings for dumplings. Common fillings in northern China include pork and green onion, pork and cabbage, pork and celery, beef and green onion, beef and celery, etc.; common fillings in southern China include pork and corn, pork and shepherd's purse, three fresh dumplings, etc. This is just the tip of the iceberg. If you want to understand Chinese food, you have to understand China's geography and history. You will know why Sichuan people like spicy food while Guangdong people prefer lighter food, why northerners prefer salty food while eastern people prefer sweet food. Northwestern people like beef and mutton. This is because the north is colder and needs higher energy food, the northwest climate is dry and beef and mutton are easy to dry and store for a long time, Sichuan is relatively humid and eating spicy food can remove moisture, Guangdong is relatively humid and hot and spicy food is easy to cause ulcers, so the taste is lighter. This is what Chinese culture says: local water and soil nurture local people. So each region has its own eating habits, and these habits have been passed down for thousands of years. From my observation, the Chinese food that Westerners prefer includes: Roujiamo, beef noodles, hot pot, lamb skewers, dumplings, buns, sesame cakes, roast duck or sweet and sour pork. But these are just the surface of Chinese cuisine. Many delicious foods may only be experienced by locals. Many Westerners cannot accept animal offal, chicken feet, pig's trotters and other foods. That's because Westerners always have a prejudice and lack respect for food and advanced cooking methods. They don't know how to appreciate the true food culture and essence. They always think that Chinese people eat these things because of the shortage of physical goods! In fact, Chinese people eat these foods for entertainment and to kill time. For example, the best appetizers for drinking in China are fried peanuts, pig heads, pig ears, pig tails, pig livers and cold vegetables. If Westerners don't have a deep understanding of Chinese culture and history and have tasted them in person, they will not be able to accept these things in a short time. This may be the most direct cultural conflict. So whether you like China or not, he is there. The Chinese people are warm, friendly and tolerant. When friends come, there is good wine. As long as you understand this country objectively with an exploratory mindset, you will find the cultural characteristics of this country. We have our own advantages and disadvantages, which is the so-called yin and yang, which is the Chinese philosophy of life. If you want to understand China, you are welcome to come to China to walk, see, listen and eat. There are not only high-rise buildings in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, but also ethnic minorities in the west, deserts in the northwest, snow-capped mountains in Qinghai-Tibet, prairie in Inner Mongolia, ice and snow in the northeast, wonderful hills in the central region, and islands in Hainan. I think China has most of the world's geographical features. From snow-capped mountains to islands, from grasslands to deserts, from hills to plains, everything is waiting for you to explore. What are you waiting for?

Thanks for telling the truth about China even though I'm not even a Chinese citizen. Even as a third generation Chinese Myanmar who knows Chinese characters and language, we had misconception about China, cause we were taught with Republic of China curriculum in Chinese language school which taught bad about communist China and said we needed to invade Mainland China and reclaim the land ( 反攻大陸)stuffs. All our media consumption were from Western Media or translation of BBC Routers CNN into Burmese news. Until I try to read Chinese news on Chinese apps about Chinese business, technologies, general news and their comments on the events, I started to understand their ways of thinking or temporary culture and trends. And I did business in Chinese bordering city and went there, and realized how far China has come compared with India or my country Myanmar. We were all influenced by Western Media anti-China and China bashing news about view of China.

Interesting story: China is 30 times the size of Italy, 38 times the size of the UK, and even 26 times the size of Japan. Why is there so many interesting places in China? Because China has a large territory, from north to south, with longitude and latitude span, which results in different regions and climates, and different dietary differences among different ethnic groups. Western tourists who are exempted from the 144 visa in China cannot experience many attractions in China. If you go to China next time, be sure to apply for a longer-term visa so that you can visit many places. If you like to see traditional culture, you can go to Xi'an and Luoyang. If you like food, you can go to Guangzhou. If you like to see beautiful scenery, you can go to Zhangjiajie (the filming location of the Avatar movie) and Guilin. If you like to see ethnic minorities, you can go to Dali and Lijiang Ancient Town. If you like to see Central Asian Muslim culture, you can go to Xinjiang. Xinjiang has many beautiful scenery, as well as snow-capped mountains and lakes, and beautiful women who look like white people. No matter which remote place you go, you don’t have to worry about being cheated or stolen. There is no tipping culture in China, so you can save a lot of money. This the true.True you can not see it in Western media when they speak about china.

Hello blogger, there is no Taiwanese food in the world. Taiwanese food also belongs to the local cuisine of a province in China. The food you eat is from a restaurant named Din Tai Fung. This restaurant was actually brought to Taiwan from Beijing, China in 1948 by officers and soldiers from northern China who retreated to Taiwan Island, China, and was gradually popularized. By the way, Taiwan is currently a local self-governing island of China.

Chinese tourists (in Cambodia?) did not tip the tour guides? Shame on these greedy tour guides!! In China, tips are NOT expected, they are not required ... and often, the service providers would refuse the tips. (One foreign tourist in Xinjiang said the restaurant server ran after him to return his tip!!) So Chinese tourists on overseas trips would not know about this tipping business. My personal experience was when I gave a small tip to my taxi driver who drove me to and back from the outskirt of Datong to see the Hanging Temple. He was so helpful and cheerful. The next day when he took me to the HSR station for my return to Beijing, he refused to take my money for the taxi fare (which would be about 30+ yuan)! This is how they are, simple and helpful!

Haven’t watched the video yet, but I saw the cover and decided to leave a comment first. Chinese people like to speak directly and do not like to beat around the bush. When we see old friends, we may say, "Oh, you're fat! You should lose weight.". You see a friend's artwork, and you might say, "This looks bad actually, it might be difficult for you to be a designer." This is how we communicate, simple and efficient, pointing out problems directly. This is especially evident in business. As a designer, every time I have a meeting with Westerners, no matter how bad my work is, they will say: "Great! It looks great!" Then it is difficult to get real advice from them. If a Chinese person comments on your body, appearance, or work and makes you feel sad, don't consider them rude. That's what they are. 当然,这是相对的,很多中国人婉转起来、恭维起来,甩老外10条街。

In China, only takeaways have a tipping function, and offline stores do not have a tipping culture.Wool comes from sheep, which seems to increase the income of ordinary people. In fact, everyone is a consumer as well as a service provider. When you receive a tip, you must also tip. This makes no sense. The boss will also lower the base salary due to the tipping culture.

In terms of the "mysterious" white peas in Chongqing noodles. You may think it's chick pea, however, chickpea is a very middle east specialty which is hardly used in Chinese cuisine. The peas are just one subtype of peas with whtle colour. More importantly, the white pea does not have a pointed radicle and a slightly concave hilum as chickpea has.

That's a great question! This is precisely one of the biggest differences between the Chinese system and the Western system: we do not always prioritize short-term economic returns. For example, in infrastructure construction, we consider whether the finances can support it and whether the project is beneficial, but not every time we put whether it can make money in a very high position. Infrastructure construction does require significant investment in the short term and has a long return period, but it has a huge potential economic impact and greatly enhances people's convenience and sense of happiness. As population mobility increases, it will naturally generate economic returns in other areas. In a market dominated by private enterprises, even if everyone understands this principle, it is difficult to achieve because companies demand precise and sufficient returns.

I know you guys are trying more to be veg food vloggers, but even if you think people don't want to see the same touristy stuff like the great wall, panda, etc... you're wrong. a main reason why many watch, especially locals, is not to see the sites and attractions, but to see your impressions. you can just simply be walking around the attractions and saying anything that comes to your mind and people will enjoy watching it 😂. maybe it's different in other countries but local chinese are very curious about anything that is 'foreign' to them so even your simple opinions of things will be interesting. I'm sure you know now that you kind of rushed your trip. the proper way is just to visit one region at a time so you spend less time traveling and more time in the more local and less touristy parts of a city. like chongqing, personally I would not want to spend more than a day in that city but you can spend several days outside the city exploring smaller neighboring towns and scenic areas. china has a lot of amazing natural landscape to check out. you could easily spend the entire two weeks wandering around yunnan province and check out all the different minorities, foods, ancient towns, natural landscape, etc etc. another example is shanghai, another city where I rather not spend more than a couple days, but you can take a 30-60 minute bullet train to nearby hangzhou, suzhou, and nanjing and spend 2 weeks exploring those cities and outskirts.

The main difference between China and the West is the political system. China has one party that takes care of it's citizens, so basically stuff gets done ie infrastructure, good cheap public transport system, good healthcare etc. In the west where there are two parties fighting for favouritism and their own political and financial agendas, nothing ever gets done. Not to mention their politicians are trying to line up their own pockets whether it be trying to start a war in a foreign country or taking bribes from big pharma and tech companies to push their own agendas. In China, politicians work for the people and those few that are found out to be crooked are severely punished, whereas in the West the citizens are the ones that work for the crooked politicians.

The following article is written by Ismail Bashmori, he is an Egyptian China watcher. The truth is that China is the greatest country on the face of the earth. It makes all other countries look insignificant and contemptible. It is the most brilliant, most industrious, most ambitious, most educated, meritocratic and technocratic, most modern, sophisticated, and civilised, and best-governed by far. It is the first non-white, non-Western country to reach this status since the 1600s. The determination of this country is indescribable. Supernatural. There is no force that can stop it from accomplishing anything it wants to do. 。 It doesn’t matter who we are. Egyptians, Syrians, Pakistanis, Indians, Africans, even Americans. Next to the Chinese, we are pathetic. We can’t do what they do. We would have a mountain, an Everest of changes to make, and we would whine and bicker and fail at every one of them. China’s story since the 1980s has been one of an almost divine metamorphosis. 。 Next to China the entire Western world from Alaska to New Zealand has stagnated. Next to China the entire developing world from Brazil to Madagascar has progressed only at a crawl. China is the mother of all gargantuan bullet trains. Every day it manages to create something new and astonishing. And unlike the United States, unlike the British Empire, unlike the French, Dutch, Germans, Spanish, Portuguese or any other Western nation that had its turn at being a superpower in the past four centuries, China doesn’t need to run anybody over or take something from somebody else, to rise majestically. China is also standing up to the West all by herself. The West can’t believe their four-hundred-year-old global supremacy is being challenged. They hoped that the more China developed, the more it would submit to their influence, interests, and leadership. That didn’t happen. So now they will do anything possible, short of a nuclear war, to make China end. Their goal is to destroy this country. That’s why, although the United States has killed several million people and turned several regions of the earth into hellscapes. China is the worst fear of our planet’s Western masters. They want you to despise and dread a country that’s done nothing to you, that hasn’t invaded anyone, bombed or sanctioned anyone, that hasn’t overthrown any foreign government, or used its military on anything since 1979. China is the only major country in the nonwhite developing world, to stand up to the West. To look it in the eye when challenged or threatened. The Global South are simply Western puppets who submitted long ago. Even the most powerful ones. Saudi Arabia, Brazil, India. Above only part of the article, you can read the full article under the following link. www.dailyexpress.com.my/read/4459/west-can-t-believe-nor-accept-china-s-progress/?fbclid=IwAR3aJYSZC3rbUgM1NwHCO73XxnNzNkJPa9wrSsFp-4KMxTozuJiHBwLJDXU

@klchai7884 Because of our arrogance, we Chinese have paid more than 100 years to sink, and now Chinese are just trying to live and restore the prosperity of the past.

@@user-hd7eg9kj1g , from what you said, i am very sure that you know nothing about Chinese culture and history although you are Chinese, you also know nothing about the history and culture of western countries.

Chinese are a bit loud. I think a lot of people outside are not used to it. Plus some Chinese who have not travelled much before, they may jump the queue line... Lol. But it has improved a lot compared to about 10 years ago

No matter which country you visit, respect the local culture. Never use your own habit and cultural criteria to evaluate the local things. You are right about tipping in China. We Chinese never tip coz people earn enough to live on in the industries in which people need to be tipped in western countries. Therefore, it is nothing rude for Chinese people not to tip. LMAO... if you want, you can tip... Chinese people may return the tips to you.... LOL

Subways and high-speed trains are provided by the government as a welfare to the people, and there will be financial subsidies. So the prices will be very low.
