As a type 6 I I'd say these are definitely accurate! The one thing that I think is important to note is in regards to saying "all is well". I need to have my fear or anxiety validated before being told everything is ok. It doesn't even mean the other person has to agree with my view, but I need to feel like they understand why I'm feeling anxious and that I'm not being judged for my fear. Without that reassurance I'll feel invalidated and likely not be able to hear or accept the support the other person is trying to give. It's more likely to bring my walls up further and make my anxiety worse because I don't feel seen and heard (and therefore emotionally safe) in that moment.

The #1 foamy finger part is so true. but then when you compliment them back they get shy or act all humble i shall not be deterred from saying nice things about em though!

Ah yes, humour can be a form of escape for me because you're just enjoying the moment. Or sometimes a way to get through a difficult experience without triggering anxiety... My dad got upset with me saying "You think everything is a joke." ... meanwhile, I actually take life extremely seriously and compensate with humour :')

My husband is a 6 and I find a lot of this to be true! However, in the "what not to say to each enneagram" video, it's said that the worst thing you can say to a 6 is something vague about the future, likely meaning something negative. But my husband doesn't want to hear something vague and positive about the future either, which is what the "all shall be well" mantra is. He said, "yeah, it'll be well because I make it well." It's similar to telling someone not to worry because everything will be ok. We don't know what the future brings but we can try to control it as much as possible, hence all the anxiety and rule-following.

#2 is so true! I never know how to react when people space out and I have no idea when they're coming back and it just ratchets up the anxiety for me.

I'm the type 6 (6w5 Sp/So), but I'm watching this anyway. My worst fear would be somebody just springing a divorce or an urgent problem on me out of the blue. My first question would be "what did I do wrong?" and I'd need a little time alone to cry a little and process things. Then again, financial ruin because they had an impulse purchase or they lost their job would be pretty bad too. I'm in a fairly secure job, but I could lose my job too. Also, what if one of us got really sick and the other person doesn't have the financial or health themselves to help the other?

As a 6 myself, I was intrigued by the positive affirmation you included. Then!! I ended up reading the same exact quote in my book (Once Upon a Wardrobe), so now it’s definitely going to be my mantra for 2022. ‘All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.’ - St. Julian of Norwich Thank you and many blessings to you this new year! 🥳🥂🎉

Im Type 8 and i swear these paranoid female 6es drive me crazy in a bad way. Everything is easy and then they make up some redicolous problem. Its funny that you bring up this example, since its the only advice i have ever heard that 6 and 8 are hardly compatible.

I could see that. But 'counter phobic' 6's, a swing most all of us can get in touch with even though underneath that is extreme anxiety, can be experienced as having dominant traits. In that way 8's & 6's could find deep kinship and be really sympathetic to each other - we know how that part of ourselves can get carried away and can push people away. But instead as an 8 & 6 couple it can be met with compassion & understanding!
