This makes me think of one of my favourite quotes from Alex Hormozi - “we need to be reminded more than we need to be taught”. I think most of us know this stuff deep down but it’s always helpful to be reminded and encouraged. Thanks brother.

Thanks for sharing your truth Drake. I accepted years ago that my disposition does not lend itself well to being a business owner. I’m grateful to have found myself in the position of managing a great team for a great boss. I’m comfortable with my reality. Hats off to all the business owners out there. I know it’s a difficult road.

Great video once again. Love the real talk brother, God Bless you. I'm a pro detailer up north and looking into getting into boat detailing, but like you suggested more on the part time basis ( I have another business ) . I had a carwash & detail shop but recently closed it. Marine and select auto detailing jobs would work better for me at this time. I had huge overhead and staff at the wash. Scaling down with little to no overhead at this time is a path i'm praying I will put together. Keep up the great work and message. Thank you Sir.

Great information! I've worked for several small businesses during my working years and the owners have one thing in common, it is an all-consuming situation. Your thoughts are spot on. I have a side auto detailing business and at this level, it's all fun, but to make it a full-time business is when all the pressure and stress come in. And yes, your faith is an important foundation. Thanks for the honest talk, probably should be a must watch for folks thinking about getting into business!

Working for yourself beats having a boss EVERY TIME. Yeah, you'll get a bad customer once in a while but you learn to ID them and quote yourself out of the job.

Bro, I’ve followed you for a bit. You have high standards for yourself, your work, and importantly, your clients. Most people watch detail videos that involve hard labor think, heck that looks easy. Unfortunately, most underestimate the physical and mental work. It’s about the hustle. Money is good if you got the ingredients described above. Keep doing what you do!

The facts of being a business owner: Off hours we are the scheduling team, during hours we are the crisis management team. 💪 My wife and I had the idea to open a boat detailing business in 2017, ran it for one summer with great success. Then for the next 4 years life took a different turn. After growing weary of being under the control of someone else, we revisited the idea of becoming our own bosses once again. At the end of 2021 into 2022 we revitalized our business. 3 years in and we are proud to say we've gotten through some growing pains and the business keeps growing. It's an ever learning game but one that addictive to play. No plans of going back!😎

Wow… God bless you man! And lead you. I’m only on my first 6 months into it, and I can taste already all the stress, I get discouraged at times. My clients appreciate my work. But I don’t always have clients. Since I started, I have made about $14K LIVING IN north Idaho, I have served the Lord for 8 years as a video producer, working for a media ministry, since I came to the USA, I’m now a citizen. The pay at my current job is low. I have my wife homeschooling my 3children. This job has potential, I will continue asking the Lord this is where He wants me to be. Take care! God bless everyone.

Can you show how you tie yourself to a boat on your own. We’re getting some leads on some big boats and having to have one man hold one buffing seems like throwing money in the trash
@DrakesDetailing4 күн бұрын
Hey bro! I did it solo for years… big and small! It was a pain, but at the end of the day I wasn’t paying someone a wage, if you have multiple guys on the boat, that’s better, but they need to get it done in a more timely fashion if you want to make any profit.

What were your biggest challenges, if you were to do things over again what would you do differently, on average how many hours are you putting in a day, how many days off, how has it changed since you started, what type of income can one expect to make at first and once established. I currently make 80G a year working 9-5 but want a change Also would you be willing to train someone one on one, if so what would you charge, and how long do you think it would take to learn the ins and outs of detailing and running the business
@DrakesDetailing17 күн бұрын
Hey bro! I put in around 12-14 hours per day. I have a amazing crew now, even though I may not be on the job for that exact 14 hours, you can find me doing office work, billing, quotes, social media promotion and marketing, etc. When you own your own business, you are 100% committed to it- and it never really leaves your mind. That being said, I wouldn’t have it any other way. It was definitely a struggle at first, but as I started to get my name out there after doing some boats it has all the to provide a very nice life for me and my family. My going rate for in-person training is around 3k for the week. Feel free to message me on my Facebook or Instagram pages, or email me at: Drakerobert@revivalmarinecare.com
