The first one I ever saw in a souls game was in sens fun house. I approached it and saw bloodstains and didn't realize until it was too late when I had the option to toggle between open chest and check bloodstain. There had been far worse death scenarios in the first souls game, but that one right there didn't get me tilted. I was sitting there thinking, "Welp, I guess I'll just die." Found out further into my playthrough you can mash out of certain grab animations to prevent dying. It would have been nice to know this detail sooner rather than later, but its a souls game.
