I have a first Gen 360c and it has done its job over 1000's of miles. It has it quirks because Escort is behind as far as software. Along with Waze it works.

I like my 360c. But if I didnt live in Va, I would have an r8. The redline has a case (magnesium maybe) that doesn't get picked up by cops with their detectors. Plus its easy to pull off and hide if needed 😅

Hi alex, one thing that I found interesting is that the posted speed limits are obtained through wifi. It is too bad it was not in the firmware like many are on GPS's since road speed limits rarely change.
@AlexAutoFun2 ай бұрын
Hi K! Yeah that is interesting, I think it may have to do with their guarantee that they will pay for you speeding ticket if you get one, I'm assuming to reduce the chance of having to pay for on if the speed was off based on historical data vs real time data, but that is just a guess lol Cheers friend!

If you don't have a wifi hotspot in your vehicle, will this still update via bluetooth from your phone or if you are near your household wifi? Do you have to have wifi for the speed limit sign? Thx
@AlexAutoFunАй бұрын
Hi D! Yes I update mine with the Wifi at my home but for the real time speed limit it does require a Wifi connection when driving (I'm assuming so it can access the current speed limit on the road being driven at the time) Cheers!
@DouglasB65Ай бұрын
@AlexAutoFun Ok..thx, I have a 2024 Nissan Frontier Pro 4X and it has the speed limit sign reader option so I'm covered there. Doesn't seem like a useful option on a radar detector for the many people that don't have a wifi hotspot in their vehicle, it came free in my vehicle for 90 days or 3gb whichever came first, but I can't see paying for a plan if I don't work from my vehicle or travel alot. Not a deal breaker, but what would be comparable to this model Not needing wifi?
@AlexAutoFunАй бұрын
You're welcome! Yeah honestly is a nice feature but I think ur right, most people may not use it (my car also read the speed limit so I see exactly what you mean about that). Here is the other option without Wifi, more affordable too and very capable kzbin.info/www/bejne/j4PKk2urjZd_aKM Cheers!

Max 4 has USB-C. That redline has a mini-USB port. Escort is out of their minds charging those prices. Most phones today are USB-C and its just as simple to plug your phone in directly. I find it odd that you chose to use the Max 4 as the alternative vs. Max360. However the everyday person would probably be better off with the Max 4 or less.

Hi R! You be surprised at how often I still see Mini-USB and Micro-USB on new devices that I'm reviewing. Like any industry, it just comes down to cost (with USB-C having having a higher cost) . Now on the Redline 360c, I think there is more to it because remember it gets updates via Wifi, so that Mini-USB port (even though rated at 5K mating cycles) will be rarely or possibly never used. However I do agree with you, it does makes sense to go all in USB-C, I can't stand having so many different cables and we also get that increase in performance and durability. Cheers!

Hi H! If you take a look at the specs for it, shows it supports both 5 and 2.4 Ghz (mine is connected via 5Ghz). If you are unable to connect via 5G, I would recommend contacting Escort for tech support, you may need an App or firmware update. Cheers!

@AlexAutoFun Hay it is confirmed my redline 360c only has 2.4 connection. I tried on 2 different 5.0 channels & it couldn't connect. I switch to 2.4 & bingo bango, connection. I believe even that Vortex fella said it is only 1 band. The 360 max v2 had dual band.

Mini USB is insanely a horrible choice and so outdated it’s almost embarrassing. This is the same era that the iPod 30 pin connector was around. However the rest of the detector is insanely good 👍🏼
