Nike; I turned off the brand years ago when they started making lots of shoes that didn't last; I got burned enough times that I started buying other brands. Boeing turned their front towards money and their back on their workers and community when they moved out of Seattle. The current state of the company is the unsurprising result. Credit to the hosts for getting good guests, asking good questions and then letting the guests speak. The lighter side is nice and taking the serious stuff seriously is also nice. Please continue.

Did not agree with Ed's take on California supporting the film industry with tax incentives. Californians are losing a lot work to Georgia, Nevada, Canada, etc - places that subsidize these industries aggressively. I'd rather Gavin keep the work and workers in California.
@hdaviator918124 күн бұрын
California was already subsidizing the industry, they just increased it. But I don't think it will make much difference. There are other costs that make California increasingly less competitive.
@tigreytigrey853724 күн бұрын
Its probably because ED uses logic to analyze the circumstance. If you use emotions like Scott it makes zero sense.

Its a good thing ED balances out the show with logic and reason. Its hard to interpret the actual fundamentals of the companies in question cause scott tends to analyze based off of his emotional opinions vs logic and reason. If there's a negative spin on the company from scott its because the founder supports republican party. If its a positive spin from scott its because they support democrats. Its almost uncomfortable seeing ED have to tip toe his logic into the convo. I feel bad for ED :(. It must be confusing as hell for ed to see Scott's his mentors success in business followed by his seemingly broad lack of critical thinking abilities. It probably makes ed feel like he must be the crazy one given the false positives and seemingly paradoxical success of Scott.

Gotta learn young that wealthy ppl find multiple ways to land in an insulated bubble or echo chamber, and more importantly how that handicaps the person. Fine if you're set with career and money, but for someone young, looking to rise, you have to look out for pitfalls to success or pitfalls to gaining education, real world experience, or wisdom needed to make your goals happen
@Fivehe24 күн бұрын
You greatly overestimate Scott’s willingness to choose morals over money. He’s clearly been successful enough he can afford a certain amount of fundraising and generosity, but his heavy investment in things like SHEIN, his use of personal jets, and his glee at money flaunting all prove his politics to be one hobby of many alongside golf or skiing.
@tigreytigrey853723 күн бұрын
@Fivehe i mean thats not a bad theory. But if scott WAS that self aware he'd be more subtle when using that tactic. Scott usually goes off on these personal attack tangents about the founders themselves (which may very well be true) that have absolutely NO BEARING on the fundamentals or strategy of these companies (MAYBE theres one here and there that do have an effect but NOT EVERY SINGLE ONE that gets talked about. Theres only a few elons and jack ma's that are the face of the companies) it would do him good to just be transparent about his PERSONAL biases tward the sentiment instead of a weasel about it. instead of pretending like the companies financial models are somehow flawed and that the founders of the companies are bad at business.

I truly hate this guy. Sounds super smart and kept saying NVDA was overpriced at 300 and up pre-stock-split. Cost a lot of people $$$ 😭
@CuriousCrow-mp4cx24 күн бұрын
On the fundamentals it is overpriced. And there are plenty of ibstacles in its path, like China's slowing growth, the prospects of further limitations on selling national Securuty tech, and that the other big tech companies are thinking of making their own chips. "Past performance is no guarantee of future return." So pretty soon it won't be a one horse race. And the fact that the whole S & P 500 growth is only attributable to several tech companies is something to take note of. The fundamentals don't change, and you can buy Nvidia, but don't bet the farm on a situation that has the seeds of its own disruption already deeply planted.
@Venom-x7t24 күн бұрын
One year ago he stated half of his NVDA is sold, and approaching 500 the other half is on watch to be sold if it flys up to 500, it's now 1300+ split-adjusted. I'm expecting several more months of ppl looking for bad reasons to stay out of a good company.

The US economy during the Biden-Harris years has been VERY good for me. Unfortunately the poverty rate is still too high. Trump put less money in my pocket and did so at the expense of those with far fewer resources while expanding the deficit massively.
