@@RealSICKOMODE During the fight sure, but if you're build is around using buffs, you should get a free one at the start. Most people in duels (1 life) will wait for you to buff and emote. Duels are usually pretty honorable, I think it's carry over from when there were only fight clubs.

If you want to catch someone rolling around you, maybe start using running attacks and charged R2s to mess with their Roll-Timing. Only doing Jumps and R1 isn't getting you far against someone a little more experienced.

Dual heavy weapon jump attacks is still one of the scariest builds to fight. It vigor checks just about everyone. That last guy had an interesting mage build GG. Every other mage is just the same spells and Moonveil.

zanny u cant spam rot, run away and throw fan daggers then blame the opponent for not having gap closers or boluses and then expect mages to not play to their strengths, which is staying out of range and whittling down health.Cuz now its you without the gap closers . The mage was ironically not even the best mage build out there he was int faith using lots of cool but sub optimal spells. His real super power was light roll. And yeah strength builds are good now but u shoudlve seen the reign of dual cross naginatas or raptor talons. Dex was undisputed for years.

For the hand-to-hand thing, Kratos has an "unarmed" moveset in God of War 4 & Ragnarok. It's less prominent in Ragnarok though cause it's a lot weaker.

Fuckin 20k dmg jump attacks, poise breaks every few hits, way more health cuz i didnt need mana, no resource management because stamina is free and all my pots were health pots, no casting time to be punished. My final conclusion was "okay so strength players saw 2 broken spell casting builds and universally decided magic was easier without ever actually trying it. Got it."

Strength was gaslit to be weak because it was actually weak during the earlier days of Elden Ring, too slow and the recovery times were insanely long, status builds were also much stronger and Dex weapons could apply them for days. Now its the opposite, Dex weapons are CBT to play without status.

Why risk such a dangerous playstyle when you can spam bleed and frostbite and burst down everything in 10 seconds? Status dex builds in Elden Ring were comically broken, the average player could literally beat Malenia by spamming hoarfrost stomp. Dark Souls 3 also had the same dex meta, the sellswords twinblades melted everything in pve, straight swords and curved swords were king in pvp.

That mage player is genuinely one of the coolest mage builds I’ve seen. Sub optimal spells sure but he was definitely aggressive. Don’t know why you kept saying he was running away when all he was doing was light rolling away from your attacks. What do you want him to do? Just take it in the face? Bit hypocritical of you to run away and wait for rot pot and fan daggers to kill and say “Oh you should have attacks which can chase” but then complain when your Jump attack spam doesn’t work because a dude dodges them.

For me, when it comes to builds, I generally think Fromsoft do such a good job of giving viable options in every class that there is no "best" or "weakest" build, there's just players who know how to build a character completely and people who think you only need to put a stat to 50 then that's the strongest they think a build can be. After playing all of the souls games on multiple different builds, I'd generally say the amount of options available makes Dex the most viable and easiest build, magic (the apparent "easiest" build) is just the easiest to pick up but building it out to be actually OP takes some knowledge, then strength is the hardest to pick up because it's the slowest, so its about timing, but as Zanny is showing with a good build can literally make you OP very easily where timing is irrelevant.

Tried a strength run so the losers would stop telling me how much harder they have it. One of if not the easiest run in the whole game. 99% of the bosses die in like 8 hits
