Amazed to have only just come to this great song, and beautiful that this talent hails from Cornwall - a very special place in my life, and for many of us. Most people spend their time here commenting by reference to "Grey's Anatomy", but that means nothing to me as I have missed out on that totally! On the other hand, we see something special here in the title, from a group that started off with the significant (actually problematic) name of "Soul Magician" - since we should not mix magic with the works of God. The fire that burns in a special way is the Holy Spirit - it cleanses but does not hurt us. The Spirit is pure love and truth and by nature does NOT hurt. The song encourages cleansing by fire, using the standard exhortation "come on", so it begs the question of who is the "you" the hands belong to. It sounds like an encouragement of an individual or indeed the whole world. Surely all of us should seek cleansing. But that then suggests a shift of frame of reference with the explain part, because God can do the explaining in the context, but we cannot. In connection with what follows, that means that the singer is seeking explanation, and meets the power (of God) as he turns - of course turn could be a physical turn, could be a turn(ing point) in our lives, or could be a full transformation as we turn into something or somebody else. The Holy Spirit is capable of all of those things, as He was with Saint Paul. And me (on 28-2-21). Repeatedly in the song we seem to have sections of encouragement and sections of discouragement and a desire to withdraw from what we begin to discover - this is not unusual for those seeking to be Born Again, but lacking the courage to fully grasp the possibility. Indeed, many who watch here will see something divine and special about this song, but then retreat from that, calling the song "nostalgic" or "sad-happy" or full of "saudade", but NOT recognising the way the Holy Spirit uses such songs with such special lyrics to encourage us to see more, and reach out more to God. Sure enough "This time" - on this particular occasion, there is a need to "pull up" (from a dive or plunge) because of turning white and senses dying - perhaps this is even actual death??? But turning white is also ... with fear. Crazy the idea that senses can die (or that we can be scared) in a divine encounter, as of course the opposite is the case. But The Bible always has Angels telling people not to be afraid. When it happened to me (as I begged for help and cleansing), I was NOT afraid, not one little bit - I embraced the tangible transforming-energy event that I experienced and loved every merciful, healing, truth-telling moment of it. However, earthly sensuality and sensibilities may die in this way, as a person encountering the Spirit (wants/seeks) to leave behind the world, the flesh and the D*v*l. Reasons for hesitation are given, as the jump between earthly things and things of the Spirit is big, "from one extreme to another". From the summer to the spring (means passing through winter first, before the new rebirth), from the mountain to the air (means we have climbed but we still have the earth beneath our feet - until we do not - both Moses and Jesus climbed mountains to get closer to God). "From samaritan to sin" is the most clearly religious lyric of the whole song. It is open to various interpretations. On the one hand we have the Samaritan woman - the fist person to whom Jesus reveals His Messianic status. She was a sinner, but Jesus knew her sins and told her of them, and - because He knew all about her she was immediately convinced of His status. Stunningly, this part of The Gospel actually includes a reference to a mountain, as the well is located there. The living water Jesus offers is of course charged with the Holy Spirit. The "Good Samaritan" is the other familiar one - a person who did not pass by on the other side, and was less bound by heartless convention than the Jewish people. But to be a good samaritan we have to acknowledge our sin and ask forgiveness for it, ask for Jesus's salvation. Just doing good deeds is NOT enough. "waiting on the air" is specific - because it could be the literal air (the Holy Spirit is wind too) but "on the air" also means "live", "going on right now", "not the rehearsal". Basically, the lyrics then repeat, but we do end up with an interesting contrast: And it's waiting on the air / Now I'm low (a person who is physically and literally low is not on the air, so separated from that goodness). A person who is low is closer to the abyss and the dark places. But from such a place we can look up, or as we see here, looking out (desiring to change our outlook) - and a necessary part of that process is searching our souls and consciences by looking in. And since the lights are indeed dimmer way down, we need to return to the exhortation to take the light/fire, by putting our hands into it and being cleansed and blessed. I specialise in happy-sad songs of spiritual content, in which we may see the inspiring work to encourage love and truth and the search for Father and Son that the Holy Spirit engages in. Until Jesus comes again, the Spirit is the most active part of the Trinity - in the Paraclete (Comforter/Advocate/Helper/Spirit of Love and Truth) version promised by Jesus to the Disciples (and by extension all who want to be modern-day Disciples, such as myself). That could only happen (as Jesus made clear) when He himself returned to Heaven to sit at the right hand side of His Father. The Holy Spirit supplies signs to us with one aim in mind (to help us see/change). He does it through nature, culture (as with music like the above), Scripture and rapture. By the time of the rapture it may be too late for some, so better to use culture to achieve a taste of that rapture in the here and now! [Glad to have found this new song to add to my list of "feelG(o)od" works!] We can do thIS, and He is incredibly active in giving us opportunities to do so. For some reason, He has taken a particularly interest in the musicians of that supposedly atheist/non-spiritual/secular country known as the United Kingdom. How very blessed we are ... whether we realise/see or not. I do.

I heard this song for the first time when watching Les Chevaliers du ciel (Sky Fighters) many years back, and then again when watching the first episode of Grey’s Anatomy. This song has stuck with me ever since and when i heard it on Grey’s i got tears in my eyes again. Absolute beauty of a song.

Come on, come on Put your hands into the fire Explain, explain As I turn, I meet the power This time, this time Turning white and senses dying Pull up, pull up From one extreme to another From the summer to the spring From the mountain to the air From samaritan to sin And it's waiting on the air Come on, come on Put your hands into the fire Explain, explain As I turn, I meet the power This time, this time Turning white and senses dying Pull up, pull up From one extreme to another From the summer to the spring From the mountain to the air From samaritan to sin And it's waiting on the air Now I'm low, I'm looking out, I'm looking in Way down, the lights are dimmer Now I'm low, I'm looking out, I'm looking in Way down, the lights are dimmer Come on, come on Put your hands into the fire Come on, come on

+Sabryna Celayes the rumor is that he was having an affair with one of the set crew girls and Ellen Pompeo (Meredith) told them either he goes or I go because she's good friends with his wife. There must be some truth to it because his wife has filed for divorce. But they had thee most epic love story of all time and having him move or leave her would have ruined everything. This was the only way for their love story to stay true. ❤️
