Just one note on the Hungarian name Bethlen Gábor. In Hungarian tradition the family name comes first, followed by the given name. So Bethlen Gábor is Mr Bethlen, and not Mr Gábor. Following the English naming tradition, his name would be written as Gábor Bethlen. Great video again! Thanks.

There is some documentary evidence that the first military use of "The Kool-Aid Man" was in breaching the walls of Stralsund. After smashing through the flimsy styrofoam walls, he shouted "Ooohhhh Yaaaaahh !!!". Then he began serving the defeated defenders the first early form of Kool-aid, to refresh them. This might be evidence of good sportsman-like conduct in a military conflict.

They were patrons of Buddhism but their Buddhism was mixed with Afghanistan’s Greco-Bactrian culture at that time (Monument from the Kushan time found were Heracles is the protector of Buddha) They also worshiped Ahura Mazda(Zoroastrian God), that can be seen in the “Rabatak Inscription ” if you do a video about the Kushans or Kanishka the great you definitely have to read the translation of the Rabatak inscription on Wikipedia!

@@Catholic-Redpilled-SpaniardThe Spanish abandoned the Tercio System after Rocroi. You can't possibly contend that it was anything other than the tomb of the Tercios. Maybe the one influence by propaganda is you, refusing to admit your country was curbstomped by France 400 years ago
@Catholic-Redpilled-Spaniard
@Catholic-Redpilled-Spaniard 5 жыл бұрын
@@Erikaaaaaaaaaaaaa Have you even read the Battle of Rocroi? Tell me, what are the reasons the Spaniards "lost"? The german and italian tercios retreated because the french knew they were the lesser men. The spaniah cavalry beat the french one in both flanks, and the Spanish Tercio resisted 5 charges from the french army, which outnumbered it, and still stood after being pounded by the french artillery. The Spaniards were given the same conditions of surrender than a fortified city (only time that´s ever happened) and were allowed to leave in formation, with the weapons and the flags. Rocroi was a tactical victory because the french kept the field. There have been more books published in France about Rocroi than about Napoleon. If that does not scream propaganda, I dont know what does. The french had been defeated for 150 years by Spain over and over again in Europe, while having an empire 15 times larger than them; they desperately needed a propagandistic victory, and Rocroi was perfect.
@Erikaaaaaaaaaaaaa
@Erikaaaaaaaaaaaaa 5 жыл бұрын
@@Catholic-Redpilled-Spaniard Has it occurred to you that you desperately want your own country to be badass and cool, and can't face the fact that it ever lost, so you're twisting history to refuse having to admit that the Tercios were beaten. Did Spain abandon the Tercio after losing at Rocroi, Dunkirk, and the Dunes. Yes or no question.

You have to do a video about the Ghaznavids from Afghanistan or Mahmud from Ghazni. The Kushan empire from Afghanistan would also be really interesting. They were patrons of Buddhism but there Buddhism was mixed with Afghanistan’s Greco-Bactrian culture at that time (Monument from the Kushan time found were Heracles is the protector of Buddha) They even worshiped Ahura Mazda, that can be seen in the “Rabatak Inscrutable” if you do a video about the Kushana you definitely have to read the translation of the Rabatak inscription on Wikipedia!

17th century politics are so interesting. I love how complex and loose the Holy Roman Empire was, with seemingly contradictory and inscrutable webs of loyalties, irregular administrative regions, and constant infighting. I especially find the concept of free cities fascinating. It's all so weird and nonsensical I can't even wrap my head around how the German state machinery worked. Looking at it in this video it seems as though it shouldn't have worked at all.

Using religion as a political weapon to really get what you want (power, wealth, control...) has been super effective through out the ages. I like KnG because they show in detail the strategies employed to achieve those ends. Those who don't know their history are not doomed to repeat but they are doomed for lack of possiblity to exploit a missed opporunity in using experience to alter the odds in your favour.

read Simplicius Simplicissimus its german novel but it s autobiographical novel because the author was soldier in this war and you understand that the basic soldier didn t care about religion side and could change side easily as long as his ''new army'' can feed him the main concern they had is to survive !!of course all wars are terrifics but 30 Years wars was true nightmare for europeans central countries in demografic comparaison more than WWI and WW2

Hi guys, Albrecht z Valdštejna ( Albrecht von Wallenstein ) was a very interesting personality, a very smart guy and also an excellent manager. His destiny is also interesting and was predected by a famous astrologist Johannes Kepler. If you go to Prague, you can visit his palace ( Wallenstein Palace - a beautifull place ) and gardens and also make a trip to his Friedland ( Frýdland) Castle. A very nice one day trip out of Prague..
