Koji has been enjoying an incredible start to his 12th year in professional baseball in Japan. He's thrown 15 scoreless innings and has recorded the highest K/9 rate of his career. Would you be interested in following along with the progressions of some other international pitchers who train with us?

Not sure if this is meant to be misleading or just a mistake, but this is his farm stats - he hasn't pitched for the main team this year yet.
@treadathletics7 ай бұрын
@@kengo8311 We realized after posting the video that Farm teams in Japan go by the same name as their Big League teams, which is kind of confusing because that's not how it is in the States. He just got called up, so we'll see how he does. During the past month, though, he has been dominating the farm teams. Sorry about the confusion.

@@treadathleticswas going to comment about it, though it would probably be best to revise the title as it’s very misleading.

he doesn't need to throw a "93" he should just pitch his own style
@joeblack16527 ай бұрын
What if he wants to pitch 93? What if that is the entire point of him being there?
Since you're mic'ed up, would be amazing if you spoke to yourself too - like what you're referring to when you're saying "so close". And those camera shots at the grip.... those are "so close" lol. Can't quite tell what you're doing
@treadathletics7 ай бұрын
We typically only have the two static angles, so we're stuck with whatever angle they're showing the grip with. Unfortunately, they don't always face the camera. 🤷♂️ It's much easier to see the grip if you watch on a laptop/computer screen though!

It's great that technology and sports science has come as far along as this. There's no way of knowing and irrelevant idea but i can't help but wonder if Nolan Ryan would have improved if this were implemented in his time. I don't think it would be significant to notice.

He needs to straighten out and keep his core tight. the wild movement towards the end of his delivery is contributing to his lack of power. (In game, as he gets tired, he will leave the strike zone and yard in some instances.) IMHO. Strength and Conditioning and tweaking is delivery. id say in 1-2 seasons he will be a BEAST BEAST!...after watching I was right. Head looking straight all the way through his approach and working on his push off from the rubber.

He came to us specifically to increase his average velocity and improve his arsenal so he could continue playing. There is a whole lot more that goes into his training than showing up and throwing a pen as hard as he could. Here's a small look at the other things he does, which also doesn't show the weight-lifting side either. kzbin.info/www/bejne/q6CpmWiZjseEd6Msi=PPCkTeN1oNXrNtrm This was also a velo pen to raise his velocity floor. He also threw command pens to work on location and pitch shapes (kzbin.info/www/bejne/d4bOi6N_i6aAZ9ksi=2q3qfSy8vJuBjBdp), but it's pretty easy to comment without knowing the context if you're not even going to try and understand the process.

@travispool29847 ай бұрын
These guys aren’t coaches. Every video I watch they do nothing to actually help a pitcher improve. All they do is watch their computers and say “come on man you got this. Just one more.” If this guy wants to throw 93, like that is some kind of a magic number, he needs to stop flying open on his front side and he needs to load rotate into his stance leg more before delivering to the plate. It would help him generate more torque throw his front side and allow his throwing arm to whip throw the zone faster with less effort making the ball jump out of his hand.

I'm concerned that all you guys focus on is getting people to throw harder and have more spin -- you're hurting your customers' arms. This is the problem with pitching.
