I think it's a FAR better deal to get a 3/4 Ton for this amount of money, as opposed to a Half ton. This is more of a true workhorse. And that motor is an all new creation several years back, which is built as a workhorse, as the 7.3L Godzilla. There were a few bugs early on, and they also made this slightly lower displacement Baby Zilla. But, it's important to know that this engine design was a generational purpose made design... designed to go into large trucks. It's a pushrod motor, not a fancy dancy squirrel cage with a turbo about to grenade on you at any minute.

Tim a FX4 should have skid plates under the engine a plate and a poly plate under the gas tank it's a good looking truck it needs mudflaps front and rear, weather tec, bug deflector and if you ever want aftermarket leather check out catskins I'm also a fan of Ford's box liner or spray in Linex also like weather tec rear wheel liner.

Nice truck, 4WD with up to 14800 lbs towing capacity. Th FKBS GVWR is about 7700lbs. You are going to be safer on the road and that's what matters. Remember to keep most of the weight towards the front of the trailer while driving

Wow! The truck looks awesome Tim. My favorite truck that I ever had was a white one. That thing should pull the camper anywhere you wanna go. One thing I wanted to caution you on though. When I worked for Dodge back in the 90s, we were taking air dams off of them when we were installing snow plows up here in Wisconsin. The trucks tended to overheat under certain conditions without the air dam, we ended up notching the air for the snowplows . I would investigate how the truck will cool without that on there. And it will kill your gas mileage because too much air gets trapped under the truck. Would not spend the money to put it on there if they didn’t have a good reason. Anyway, congratulations on your purchase. It looks really nice. Get out there and crush it!

@@SarasotaTim only problem with shell covers is they are very heavy and you need at least two sometimes three people to remove them if you need to. I had one on an old Chevy truck and regretted it after I bought it. As soon as I wanted to help somebody move or pick up a bigger piece of furniture, that shell had to come off and then I had to store it somewhere. Those are considerations to think about Tim. The tunnel cover is much more forgiving. I like the one you had on your tundra.
