The $650,000 Lamborghini Aventador SV can be repaired for 95000.00 that is with every part new from the Manufacturer. That includes Shipping. You can get a complete front Chassis with all external and internal parts including Airbags and Modules. There would be an additional 20,000.00 charge for a re certification from the Manufacturer which would deem the car not salvage but repaired to Manufacturer Spec's in like new condition. For 150,000 you can ship it there both ways and that would be the bill. It would be done in 4 months but would be returned to a Dealer for pick up. Insurance included. Container Shipment. They would re manufacture it from the Dash Forward. They want to review their wrecked cars in doing so they fix it to new condition with a Certificate of Completion. The car is not a total loss anyway regardless of the Insurance Designation. It comes with a full Warranty. So you buy it for 200g fix it for 150g you got 350g in a 600,000 vehicle. How much profit? You sell it for 550g and you made a lot. This is how their R&D Department studies Units for safety and get paid for it. Manuf cost to build this unit new is 220g. Shipping is the longest plus your repair video you get. I am not nuts I know the system. The unit will be out of service for 120 days there and back or less. They study wrecked vehicles for safety upgrades what a better way to get paid for your crash information. Those cars are easy to fix anyway. you do not repair anything you replace the damaged par Components. On the assembly line it takes 15 minutes to install a New Complete Dash remember that. Their Program runs the unit at one of their facilities Backwards intil all the damaged parts are removed a disassembly of the unit. Can't do that in a Garage or Body Shop. Once Disassembled the unit goes forward and all new parts are installed then the unit goes to performance testing cleaned and shipped.

4:23 the center screen is on so the car is getting power but not running. Most likely the problem is there's an inertia switch or some sort of other module won't let the car restart since its been crashed very hard. Another thing is if this car has a carbon fiber tub if its cracked somewhere it can be repaired back and still have the factory integrity, but you'll have to take the car down to the bare tub and repair it. That itself is what will total this car out alone.

That does not matter because it will always retain a salvage history and lose at least 40% of its value. Most anyone buys these cars to keep them well maintained and then flip them for a profit. Please realize that no one had actually bid on either of those cars. He’s saying it’s already been bid up to whatever astronomical figure. But on Copart it will say “current bid” no matter what. The amount you’re seeing there is the number the seller decided to start the auction with. Above that is the bid status which says “Never Bid” meaning no one has actually bid on the car. Knowing this could open the door for negotiations with the seller because a lot of these auctions end without a sale. Those 2 cars could have potentially been purchased for much less than those figures.

To address a couple thins you struggled with. When a front impacted car has a broken windshield, 90% of the time it is due to a top mounted passenger airbag. So the first aventador likely had a passenger in it, triggering the passenger airbag weight sensor causing that bag to fire and destroy the windshield. The second aventador appears to have not had a passenger at the time of impact. No bag firing, thus intact windshield. Salvaged exotics resell for a higher percentage than normal for very good reasons. First, due to high repair costs, an exotic can be written off for far less actual damage than a normal car. You yourself have talked about this phenomenon with Tesla, a car being totaled out due to repair cost rather than damage severity. Second, whether that SV had a salvage or clean title, it is still one of only 500 SV roadsters ever made for the whole world, so it will hold it's desirability quite well. Not exactly comparable to say, a money pit Jetta.

I agree about buying one. A car like an aventador is very rare, and people who can afford one will buy a straight car from a dealer, not a repaired salvage one. There is very little market for the parts as there is no call for them. OK if you want to wait 20 years to get your money back. You could rebuild, but for the money it would cost there are so many other undamaged supercars you can buy
@flaron3525 жыл бұрын
Most people buying a Lambo can well afford buying it new so a 20% discount would probably not trigger enough incentive to buy salvage. Some wannabe might buy for status but get burned on resale. Best option would be use 50% rule, if successful bid give it to Lamborghini for total rebuild with new paperwork. A lot of money tied up but than there are people that have nothing but money and time. How nice that must be! Sam, you mentioned salvage vehicles can't be financed does that include rebuilt titles after restoration is complete? If so can change many a plan since I would think more people than not need financing when buying a vehicle.

Come on Sam - Copart Enhanced does not mean it does not start or run (although likely in this case that is true). It means that the seller of the vehicle has authorized Copart to perform some work such as cleaning or wrapping the vehicle in protective film to "ENHANCE" the value of the car for the seller. From their site: Vehicles listed as “Enhanced Vehicles” are those where: (i) the seller has authorized Copart to perform an enhancement service to the vehicle such as a wash and vacuum or protective covering or (ii) the vehicle is under a program that gives Copart discretion to use enhancement services to maximize the value of the vehicle. This designation does not guarantee that any enhancement service was completed but rather indicates that qualifying vehicles would likely be enhanced. It is the Member’s responsibility to inspect and verify the use of enhancement services.

Sub'd cause i like the way you're straight to the point. 2nd Aventador looks like the driver side suspension is messed judging by what you said earlier with the wheel being off center compared to the passenger side. I am surprised the bid for the 2nd Aventador is sooooo high. 1 other thing, just look @ how valuable a f1 McClaren is these days, damn i wish i salvaged a few in the day when they got totaled, they were peanuts in repairs compared to their resale value. Lastly, i think who ever buys the SV is just going to get all the parts over time & then rebuild eventually, it's a car i view as a better "investment" over time.The reg Aventador seems to have been over bid BUT i still think this model will do VERY well 10-20yrs down the road.
@tstjohn7776 жыл бұрын
Priced out the Aventador SV and with some used some new parts all OEM and carbon fiber, less labor came to $73,275.00 That includes fenders and replacing the hood inside trunk liner and box. All grill vents, grills and inserts, head lights and washer components and wheel liners and front frame and fender support brackets and hood brackets.Also all airbags and control module and new windshield from Lamborghini . I would of added 20% for stuff you can't see and misc. screws and bolts because these cars will nickel and dime you to death. But it would of been a good flip and very profitable. This took me about 2 hours to find the parts online. As far as financing one of these cars. Here is one place. en.bhmotorcars.com/financing.php Also if the car was titled "Salvaged" it can be rebuilt and insured. Each state has there laws and requirements. ON - PERMIT IRREPAIRABLE means it cannot be legally rebuilt most salvaged Titles can but must prove safe for the road.

There are some banks that will finance a salvage/rebuilt title. I got a loan with Navy Federal on two of my salvage title cars I fixed, drove for a couple of years and resold for more than I paid and the cost to repair. You just have to call and ask. If you have NFCU, you are good to go!
@metaljew44567 жыл бұрын
12:00....Sam you said that you can't secure financing for a car with a Salvage Title. That is simply NOT TRUE. I own a 2013 Ford Focus ST3 that listed for 31K-New. It had 22,600 miles on her. I bought it for 10K including tax! after 7K trade in on my 10 year old Acura TL with 160,000 miles. 6 speed manual with Navi. Clutch was on it's way out and it needed a new hood, shocks and struts. I even had $1000.00 worth of new 18" rubber put on the car before I closed the deal. USAA Gave me financing on the car. It was a "flood car" with ZERO evidence of any water damage. I have owned the car for two years and I put 30,000 miles on her. The car is perfect! I love it. It's a hoot to drive. It has a "rebuilt title " Your comments sir...

you said you didn't understand the 80% instead of 50% value for the exotics and pointed out the lack of financing. lack of financing is answered quickly, it's zero issue, anyone who can afford this car can get a signature loan for the cost of the car for little more or they can in fact get a loan on the vehicle regardless of the title because they ask the bank and the bank does them a deal. if your able to afford this vehicle, you probably have a credit score such that they'll loan you the money for merely your promise to repay with no collateral. I'd say the 80% instead of 50% is because as you pointed out it's main difference from other vehicles it actually can be considered an investment, unlike 95% of cars it appreciates in value. As an example, Volvo had the huge diesel scandal, billions lost etc. Hammered there stock price i'm sure BUT if the stock price dropped to 40% of it's pre scandal value, it'd probably be an instant buy BECAUSE you know it's going to rebound in a year or two. The market is still strong because the car is going up not down in value regardless. As to buying this vs new, I think if I were to imagine someone who bought this instead of new, it'd be someone who specifically is of the "driven not stored" mindset. If your someone who the aventador is your dream car and you finally got the money to get one and you actually want to drive it, maybe even modify it, this to me makes great sense. It's not a museum/collector car. But it's the kind of car you can throw some crazy on, crazy paint or body kits or wheels and tear up around the track or drive your kid to school and not feel bad because it's a salvage title you got for 30% off and you'll still get a few hundred thousand for it when you sell.

You were asking for feed back on value / perception of value with a salvage title. I would say, depending on who rebuilt the vehicle after the accident occurred, that would be a huge factor in establishing post repair real value. With some well known custom build shops that specialize in high end, sometimes one off builds, that specialize in that particular brand of car, the value would be higher than say a body shop that is a collision repair specialist. They could potentially repair the accident damage, and while the suspension is apart, upgrade to improved aftermarket equipment, making the vehicle more valuable than just a repaired stock vehicle.
@HOUSEOFGAMERS9317 жыл бұрын
Lambo's will not start at all untill the airbags and SRS module is reset or replaced. Also on the exotics a salvage title only deminishes the value about 20-40% depending on the severity of the accident.

I think, if you buy it on ~$325K with salvage badge, repairment should not exceed $100K. With current price tag of $650K, you may pull out some $100-150K in profit. It sounds realistic :)
@SVJROADSTER7707 жыл бұрын
Just the front bumper will cost 40k. Then you have the hood etc to replace. Probably 100k just for the front end. I noticed on the screen the ISR Symbol. If the Transmission was damaged that will run 40k. Nothing on the SV is cheap to replace. If someone does take a shot, that salvage title will be a killer when they try to sell the car. When I bought my SV, the dealer would bad mouth the car if it had a few chips in the paint. Then you might have a warranty issue with a salvaged car. You don't own a Lambo without a warranty. Anyhow, now there are only 599 in the world unless you know of others that were totaled! :-)

Why don't you try having a look at the UK copart? It might seem weird to you and I know there is only 7000 or so cars on there, but it would be interesting, one of our most common vehicles is the VAUXHALL INSIGNIA so if you do that, try that car.

the blue one got a suspension problem... right wheel straight, left wheel not straight. right?

I'm late to the party here but I'm looking at some of your earlier vids now. With this car, your later lesson about the front tires/wheels being in different positions [front suspension damage] seems pretty obvious. I'm no expert, but the damage to this one looks like a fast slide into a curb with a light pole accident.

I actually dont think the window cracked because of the impact. Looks like because the windshield is at such an angle the airbag has deployed and filled the space between the dash and the window and the rapid expansion has caused the front window to crack.

It dosnt start because they have a emergency cut off that you has to be replaced to be able to start it after a crash.

Over a year late, but SAMRAC.... pay closer attention to the pics. Specifically the position of the tires in relation to the yellow lines of the parking spot. At 1:50 and 2:15 the lambo has been moved slightly (check the yellow lines), therefore on cannot assume the wheels turn simultaneously for sure.... just helpful advise :)

Insurance companies often value salvage vehicles at 65% of a non salvage car so I would try to make the purchase price plus estimated repairs equal less than that 65%. The guys bidding so they can part the car out are the wild card here. They aren’t pinned in by the same 65% and might be able to double what they pay for a salvage vehicle on the run.

Most cars have an inertia cut off for the fuel, but the front end damage may be hiding something

1:35 The windshield doesn't seem to be shattered by the front impact, but by the passenger side airbag, whose cover has hit it from the inside

Any person who looks at repairing the 73 mile car needs to have very deep pockets and to be wildly heroic in his outlook as to any "repair ability" of the vehicle. Personally it's a total write off for a reason..it's totally knackered and l wouldn't bid more than $10k all up as it is just too risky and, realistically why would you bother looking at its repair?
@orbithesun15 жыл бұрын
High speed impact damaged SV cars are a nightmare to repair. The higher the speed the more energy released and in turn absorbed by every square inch of the vehicle. You would need to go through every nut and bolt to retighten them. There may also be micro cracks that you can't see with the naked eye, causing problems in future. Stay away from cars involved in major accidents when all airbags are deployed, cracked/shattered class and cars that have rolled over. There's a reason why insurance companies total them.

I bet you the Lambo SV will be flipped for a higher price rather than having it fixed right away. If i had the funds, i would buy the SV in a heartbeat if it stayed within a reasonable price. Just the engine is worth it to me. Other stuff you can probably find in another Audi, and bodywork i would go with aftermarket kits. Still, i would take that then a fully running Audi RS7 anydayyyyyyyyyy.

I think if you are going to restore these high end cars it would make sense to photograph the steps taken as the car is restored and that very clear before and after pics/video will help the owner sell the car if and when they are ready.

In my opinion a car that would sell for 50,000 fixed would have to be discounted 50% or more at auction. As You said it is amazing what people will pay. If it's a rare car, and someone that has connectors with used parts wholesalers word wide really have a huge advantage. You know, fabricators, and major players in this type of market. Send this car to a third world country and the cost information changes. Like you teach here. One needs to look professional lly at the data and it's easy to get burned. Some just need to be parted out. But that is another important area of expertise I won't get into here. Just to say it's really equally important.
@bigwangmark6 жыл бұрын
I like your videos but you do overlook a lot of basic things at times. The only reason the windscreen is smashed on the first car is due to the passenger airbag going off and no other reason. We can even see the impact cracks radiating out from where the airbag cover slammed into the screen. It's clear this car was pushed to hard around a corner by a new owner not used to it and ended up sliding out into something which would also explain why the roll over bars popped out. If buying it i would make sure to look over the underside and all the suspension components because there is a good chance the car slide sideways into a ditch or curb which almost caused it to roll as well leading to damaged parts. Edit this video popped up in my feed and I thought it was a new one but it's old so most of my points have already been pointed out to you lol :)

They probably won't run because of a sensor in the suspension. These cars have motorized suspension, and need to have a sensor so they know what it's set to
