Awesome how u are careful in these caves to preserve them the best u can 👍
@CalvinHikes2 жыл бұрын
Thanks. In these ones with a lot of formations... We have to be super careful. It is not even really loved within the caving community that we show videos of them. So we have to take extra care not to show locations or anything.
@Pihan-2 жыл бұрын
@@CalvinHikes I know you wouldn't want people going to the locations and defiling the formations but are there really anti-spelunkers going around just to destroy the fun for other people? Me being someone who doesn't cave wouldn't waste my time going to a cave to destroy structures, but I don't know.
@CalvinHikes2 жыл бұрын
@@Pihan- No there aren't any people looking to destroy caves. And there aren't anyone who's going to come out to these caves ever. Our care of this cave location is a courtesy to the people who are stewards over the caves of this area. I think they are overjudging people's zealousy to find caves like this and go in them. But it's not always our call. The caving community works together to share information and so we have to be respectful of what other groups want also. With highly sensitive caves like this it doesn't take much. Even good cavers with good intentions over time will damage parts of the cave. So it's also about limiting all cavers... even respectful cavers like us. I'm telling you it's a sensitive community!

Do scientists (or who) often traverse places like these to collect information about these types of formations? Also, out of curiosity, what level of caving experience/expertise would you need for this cave? Or how comfortable do you expect the average person would feel going through the entrance? You two make it look so easy but the smallest parts seem large enough for the average unskilled person to do so comfortably. I know it may be more complicated than that.

Love Larry's channel! What a positive dude. Because of his channel I bought fat grips and it's changed my ability to climb inside caves. My grip strength is so much better. I didn't know it could have that big of an effect. It also helps for digging through caves as my hands just have so much more reliable strength.

Hey, Caveman Hikes. I'm just a dude in Australia. Just want to say to you and your son - the connection is inspiring.. My father was a domestic abuser who I'll happily never see again for the rest of my life, just want you guys to know you have something really beautiful, and for you guys it might be so natural.. But from where I sit, it represents the connection with my father I dreamed of having, but unfortunately never will. Thank you for representing to me, what being an incredible father is.

Hey I recently found your channel and been watching video after video and can’t stop watching! Love you content it’s crazy how tight the areas get! I live in Florida and the only cave I know about that’s in my area in Litha springs. I love the spring and they have the cave entrance blocked off with a metal gate you can swim down too. I’ve always been so curious what’s down there but I can’t find any information anywhere online about it. Maybe you can point me in the right direction lol I’ve wondered what’s down there since I was a kid.

I like your video's, it would be great if you could include your distance and duration to reach your discussion points as you explore the caves. I find those details really convey how extreme you guys are......knowing that you crawled for 2 hours on the way in really adds to the omg factor... I know I could make it about 4 minutes until someone came in behind me blocking the exit....lol Awesome stuff
@CalvinHikes2 жыл бұрын
We would include that if I thought it added what we wanted it to add. But I think that some of the information would be a detractor. One of our most popular scary videos we went in the cave 30 feet. And the cave depth is one foot underground. that, honestly is information I don't want to give. The guessing game adds to the mystery.
@billsanders93872 жыл бұрын
First, nobody knows we’re out in this bleak wilderness. Second, each cave is a unique time, distance, energy and nerve expense. I’m Caveman’s dad, and at 73, three hours underground is about my limit. These younger cavers are brutal. 🤪

This cave is literally the Sandblasted Corridors.

I read a book a long time ago where a character had to crawl through a cave in order to survive, and the cave was very tight and she barely made it. This video is exactly how I imagined it and it’s as horrifying as I remember. I can see the appeal, in a way. Seeing something no one has ever seen before is paramount to our existence. Still. Can’t imagine crawling through the earth for fun.
