Bojji, a deaf, powerless prince who cannot even wield a children's sword. As the firstborn son, he strives hard and dreams of becoming the world's greatest king. However, people mutter about him behind his back as "a good-for-nothing prince" and "no way he can be king." Bojji is able to make his first ever friend, "Kage" (shadow) - a literal shadow on the ground who somehow understands Bojji well. (Kage is a survivor of the Kage assassin clan that was all but wiped out. No longer a killer, Kage now makes ends meet by stealing.) The story follows Bojji's coming-of-age as he meets various people in his life, starting with his fateful encounter with Kage.

I heard the sign language are accurate and is regulated. Proud of the studio for doing this. I honestly didn't watch it because of the poster took me a month and just after 1 ep i binnge it. The artt style give me ghibli vibes and it's smooth too. I swear you'll love the complex characters of this show

A lot of people forget that WIT studio is notorious for making excellent animes. Most people only know them for their work for aot season 1-3, but they worked on countless unique projects like vivy, Vinland saga, the great pretender, and Owari no Seraph. They are such a fantastic studio that doesn't get enough credit. To perfectly match the manga art style and animate with such fluidity is incredible feat. When you watch Ranking of kings episodes, notice how intricate the movement of hands is when sign language occurs. Hands are some of the hardest things to animate (IMO) consistently, and they do it to perfection.

The best choice you guys made. Ranking of kings keet getting more and more audience as more episode came out when it first started airing. Which explains why it did poorly on the polls but later on people kept recommending it. Easily top 1 anime I've watched the year 2021.
