This seems to be an accurate representation of the outback, those weird folks are just the norm for us Witches Hats are what we call those orange cone things that are used to mark out where construction zones are (what the guy was wearing on his head) The translations are pretty accurate

You should absolutely try out a legends mod for battle brothers called, "NgGH Magic Concept" where you play as a hexe and can charm everything. I found it while searching for a way to make an orc party playthrough. So you can charm orcs, spiders, goblins, unholds, ect. It's a damn fun playthrough so far
