Please help man - i have a Penn Slammer 3 10500 size reel and i want to put it on the Penn Carnage 2 12' Heavy Power rod to catch shark off the beach but no one has them in stock - there is an 11' Medium/Heavy power one down the road from me though - would an 11' Medium/Heavy Carnage 2 Moderate/Fast Action rod be good enough for fishing for shark off the beach? The 11' is rated for up to 50# test but i have 65# braid and it is rated for up to 6oz lures. Should i wait the 2-3 weeks for Penn to get a 12' Heavy Power Carnage 2 back in stock (rated for 65# test and up to 8oz lures) or do you think the 11' is good enough? It would help me out so much if you could give your input.

Love my mustads . I order them in bulk every few years and make sure I always have way more than enough on hand . Gamakatsu hooks break on me but I’ve never ever had a mustad fail me . I also swear by ugly stiks and penn reels ( I’m from Pennsylvania )
