This is the most accurate assessment of the banlist, despite sounding negative. The first minute says it all, we are in a waiting room for Azamina to make Snakes the best deck again. I'm so surprised about Flam not getting banned, Poplar was a great hit, SnAsh wouldn't matter and I fully expected to go untouched because of the OTS Ulti (Fusion Destiny was semi limited for 1 banlist) I mostly cared about Protos (even hitting Flag), Puppet lock (sadly Branded Fusion got limited instead), and mainly not seeing another needless Unchained hit.

HOWEVER - the slight silver lining and the reason I actually came to check YOUR reaction after your post INFO assessment - glass half full, Lacrima gone means no more time rules bs, or it is at least HEAVILY mitigated from the post INFO nonsense. They still need to change the time rules, period, but at least this got taken out of the equation. I understand that's getting like 20% of what's needed, but it's a small win.

Coming back 2 months later and this video aged like milk. This format's deceptively wide open and honestly doesn't even feel solved as evidenced by the recent European YCS which saw Fiendsmith control piles taking it, the Azamina stuff which people thought would make pure Snake-Eyes tier 0 again benefiting the FK version more, and turns out splitting Maxx C in to 3 cards was enough to balance it. Prizing is still ass and the pricing is still as expensive as it always is but the actual format's legitimately fun. The only parts of this format that straight up suck are Tenpai and Shifter still being allowed to exist and with Ryzeal and Maliss coming up it only looks like it's uphill from here. Constantly dooming about the game makes formats like these feel even better because I know the game I fell in love with is still very much alive in it's own weird way.

The one positive thing I will say about this list - AT LEAST Konami didn't listen to the people demanding Crossout to 1. Crossout to 1 would have made Rage of the Abyss format even more insufferable, as it would have made Fuwaross even more of a problem than it's already going to be.

I do agree it's not enough but I am interested to see how it plays out. SE small consistency hit, with power ceiling lowered a little but, might be, MIGHT be enough for more decks to overcome going second. Probably not, but we'll see. I don't know why they didn't just ban flam. Then it would have been good enough imo.

Protos and Flamberge should have been banned. Skill Drain also should have been banned, not limited. Phantom of Yubel and Sangen Kaimen should have been limited. Heavy Storm, Kitkallos, and Drident should have been unbanned. Not to mention, Glow-Up Bulb and Ultimate Offering - two completely garbage cards that are just taking up space on the list.

The list is fine, only thing scarry rn is yubel and they haven't really proven themselves to be that good yet.. Every other deck is pretty balanced rn 🤷‍♂️ now when azamina come out it will probably be a different story..

You can still make Caesar by sending Engraver to grave and making the link 2 and linking off for Requiem. It doesn't play harder into Fuwaross since the primary reason people were making Sequentia is gone. There is a huge difference in 3-4 monster negates and 1 so I think that with Cross-Over Breakers coming out Azamina will only be a issue for decks like Earth Machine lv.10. Decks that haven't seen enough good support in recent to be a good argument for Snake-Eyes to not be ok to exist. Cross-Over supports 50+ decks and with all of the options it gives those decks to just make people playing grave decks hate the game (Dweller and Steelswarm Roach included.) you'll find that banning Apollousa not only saved the game and future proofed it but that it saved pure Snake-Eyes from being killed.

The fact they felt the need to wait till August to implement changes that could have occurred 1-2 months ago is beyond asinine. Players were just coping on the thought of a nuke happening if Konami felt the need to deliberate and make specific choices at all and wait till August 31st.
