I'll subscribe just because you have a base model review. I hate that nobody really cares about the base models. Not everyone wants to buy the most expensive models. I priced out the exact same model midnight sport but with AWD and it's $43k.

This and the LT are the trims most people will afford to buy. This LS isnt too bad as the base trim, you get the same 2.5L turbo and the utility and space the Traverse has. Just dont take it off road lol.

I agree but plan on LT instead. Red LT AWD with black package. I also want to add moonroof and driver tech package ( premium audio, hands free driving etc) all for just over 50K. Basically a RS with cloth seating and 20s instead of 22s. Heck you can even add imitation leather for another grand if you prefer. No Moonroof save $1.5k etc. You can make it cheaper as well.
@c.harperautogroup6 ай бұрын
I think that's the spec right there! I myself wouldn't want 22" wheels and don't like the more noisy tires of the Z71.

Not that you asked my opinion but as someone who is also in the market and considering this, I do think the RS is a big step up after seeing them both in person. I haven't seen the LT so I can't compare that one. Of course your needs and wants may be very different than mine but as a person who drives a lot, I will go with the RS. My local dealer is not doing those stupid mark ups so it makes even more attractive.

Agreed. I test drove a Nissan Pathfinder SV trim w/ convenience package back in November, and it was around $39k. Same class. The following month, I nearly purchased a Santa Fe XRT trim the dealer was asking for $40.5k for it. I walked. I dont really need 3rd row, but after seeing this Traverse review, it can't beat the value for the money. I am also doing some research on the Chevy Blazers as well.

Why lose the V6? 4 cylinder turbo is going to run hot. My prediction is disaster. Hope I’m wrong.
@c.harperautogroup4 ай бұрын
I hear you, but you do get better performance with the turbo four. More low end torque where most people prefer it. The 2.7L Turbo in the trucks have been fantastic motors with little issues, so hopefully this slightly smaller version is the same.
@whiz35284 ай бұрын
Turbo engines The majority of the driving public do not know enough about engines, turbos, cubic inches, torque and horsepower to care. Just like an air compressor, the higher the pressure you run it the shorter the life of the pump, a car engine is a pump. Turbos pressurize the engine to falsely make it put out more power and you have Turbo lag before it engages. The 4 cylinders lose power as they get more miles on them, there is no substitute for cubic inches, horsepower and torque in a naturally aspirated engine. I have built engines and turbo's boost the pressure into the small engines creating more power at the expense of the life of the engine. Your maintenance cost will exponentially increase with a turbo when it fails. Any economy you may have gotten from the turbo will be totally lost on the replacement cost of the turbo. This vehicle is way too large/heavy for a 4 cylinder. A long list of gadgets will not negate the lack of power from a 4 cylinder, not to mention the turbo lag when you need all the power from the small 4 cylinder. GM has lost this customer. We have a 2017 ACADIA V-6, 34 MPG highway.
