Cannibalism has a lot of symbolic significance in Project Moon's setting! A big recurring theme in their previous game was how modern life encourages us to consume/destroy each other to get ahead. If it puts you at ease, Limbus is very f2p friendly and pulls/currency are rather plentiful. If you like the soundtrack so far, you'll probably find a lot to love about the franchise!
@Drakon_Minaka

To emphasize how F2P friendly it is, I have almost everything in the game from just grinding. The only thing I'd ever recommend buying are the passes. What they give you is genuinely worth it and makes getting things you want so much easier, and if you max out the pass, you have nothing to grind for come next season (as things from the previous pass will be able to be grindable after the season is over) until new stuff comes out and thus can devote the time and resources you wish to devote into getting what you want. As of right now, I have everything except the newest heathcliff identity and three egos that are available to extract forever (Hong Lu Dimension Cutter, Yi Sang Wishing Cairn, and Outis Ya Śūnyatā Tad Rūpam). Even then I'm extremely close to the new Heathcliff identity in resources, already almost at 300/400 shards I need.

If you notice, then in In Hell We Live, the “If….” phrase is connected to the “why…?” phrase. If you wanted me to speak - Why did you make my voice stutter? If you wanted me to think - Why do truths never matter? If you wanted me to carry on our dreams - Why did you curse me with “you’re a natural born genius”? If you wanted me to live - Why do death end my torture? If you want me to forgive - Why can’t anyone feel my hurt? If you want us to pretend like we’re civilized humans - Why’d crown the most violent to be champions?

I like to think of In Hell We Live, Lament as a song of two parts, one about someone question what's the point of having 'freedom' and 'talent' if they can't do nothing with it, the other about metaphorically biting into the forbidden fruit that is someone else, seeing their past, all the ugly and disgusting parts of them, the many regrets they could have (which is more than likely in The City), but still seeing something beautiful and kind on them, the metaphorical angels in the ribs, and hoping for a better future despite it all. Kind of like the LCB motto: Face the Sin, Save the EGO 😁

In Between Two Worlds is a literary reference to the novel _Demian: the Story of Emil Sinclair's Youth._ It's about the eponymous kid's struggles between the comforting but shallow world of light, and the gritty but real world of darkness, and his growing up from one to the other. The game's Sinclair's motif is that of a chick that has just barely hatched from its egg.

Man that cannibalism warning really got to you, huh lol? But yes, Mili is the music group. Many people who played Library of Ruina (The second game title in the franchise) quickly fell in love with the musical productions they made for the game. No idea if you plan on playing or checking out Library of Ruina, but if not then I highly recommend the tracks they made for it, along with checking out some of the game's other musical tracks! Do be forewarned though, Project Moon's games are notorious for being quite challenging games with some rather rich but dark storytelling, a big reason there's so much overlap with Arknights playerbase. Also, the voice acting in both these titles are amazing! Many of Mili's produces tracks for the second game were focused as 'Boss themes' and all of them were quite something and added quite the layer of quality to those moments. Am really hoping to see more done for Limbus Company as well! Seeing the collaboration with one of the singers from Myth & Roid for the game's theme song also had many fans super excited!

I remember that when LobCorp was still unknown, someone made a silly little amv using drawings of characters on game and song "execute(me)" by Mili, long, long before Mili and ProjectMoon even touched each other. The song was so fitting to story, the amv became one of leading popularity vids of the song. Then, people realized that those two - pmverse and Mili- are made for each other. And the sequel had music specifically composed by her. Now, shortly after Library of Ruina came out, someone made silly amv using "Shadowgraph" by Myth&roid... and here we are years later with "In hell we live, Lament" xD

Afaik, In Hell we live, Lament was made specifically for Limbus Company. It was realeased a while ago too. Between two worlds plays during the final fight of the game's third chapter, featuring the game's first proper boss. Some of the fights before can be a decent challenge too but this is the first one that's a proper threat if you ignore the mechanics. Funnily enough, even though it is a theme of the boss, the song fits one of the main characters that's strongly connected to the boss much better. There are also other songs that Mili have done for Project Moon. They are featured in a "prequel" to Limbus Company called Library of Ruina. Most of them are boss themes too. Gone Angels and Children of the City are my personal favorites. Maybe avoid Gone Angels tho, bit too spoilery seeing as a lot can be inferred from it even without context.

Mili is my favorite group when making video game music, all of their songs sounds so cheery but haunting when you read the lyrics. Similar to From a Place of Love, which is a boss theme song of library of ruina. It sounds happy and the lyrics sounded like it meant for love and regret. but as you play the game and experience the story, you'll learn that the song had deeper meaning to it.

Oh-hoho~ if you of all things you also focus on OSTs then you are in for quite a treat cause all PM games got this nice Ear Candy Also, essentially all music is made for the game, but Mili makes it so that songs have meaning both for the game and on its own for her fans who never touched project moon. Also opening sang not just by Momo of the Mili band, but also by KIHOW who is responsible for some rezero and Tanya the evil openings if I remember correctly. And according to Momo(singer) on interview, at first she wanted to sing 1 part and after like a year or 2 sing the other as in "discussion between future and past self" but lower voice of KIHOW fit as well.

Edit1: God "I love In Hell We Live, Lament.", as you said, pretty unique. I love the amount of meaning in it, and the polyphony (Two voices at the same time singing different things)(might be wrong about the term name) Edit2: Kinda sad that if you don't play this game enough you might not hear the second song in game (final boss of chapter 3), the song by itself is amazing, but hearing it while playing the story and in the climax of the chapter, well, it's insane and much more epic. A bit of a disclaimer about Limbus, the gameplay gets better. At the beginning it is quite literally just "scroll left to right" (you'll get it) but in the last level of chapter 1 it gets good and eventually in chapter 3+ it shines. Tho, the story and characters are pretty good from start to finish. Also a bit of context. Mili is a band, though it's quite frequent for people to believe "Mili" being the singer lol. Also also, Boss battles with Mili songs are a rarity inherited from the previous game (Library of Ruina), basically, if you hear that voice, you know this is going to be difficult/epic. And something I'm a bit worried about is that they tend to copyright claim videos, I hope you go unnoticed by them lol

sort of interesting trivia/speculation about the pm games and their musical collabs, during the lifetime of Lobotomy Corp there was a popular animatic made for the game set to Mili's world.execute(me); and then in the next game Library of Ruina it was revealed that Project Moon had commissioned Mili for some boss tracks and other theme songs, then another popular animatic got made for Ruina this time set to shadowgraph by Myth & Roid, fastforward to Limbus reveal trailer it turns out that apparently Cassie Wei had gotten into contact with KIHOW (who they happen to be twitter mutals) from myth and roid and asked if they wanted to collab for in hell we live lament. Okay, so an interesting thingy I'd like to point out about "Between the Two Worlds": the first half (Realm of Light) is made so it would resemble a Christmas song. Limbus Company itself was originally supposed to release on Christmas and the story of the chapter 3, which the song plays at the end of, is set on Christmas as well. And regarding the "Biblically accurate angel" fight, they already kinda did it in their first game: "Lobotomy Corporation". For the other Mili songs made for Project Moon I'd love you to check out "Iron Lotus" and "Gone Angels". They're both boss fight songs as well.

One interesting detail I've noticed in Beyond two worlds Realm of Darkness if that it kinda points out Kromer's hypocrisy, we all know she is obsessed with humanity as a pure form and rejects any person that has replaced the slightest of their bodies with something artificial, to the point of being willing to allow her allies to corrode and turn into abnormalities, hence loosing their humanity, over them getting prosthetics. In the song, we only hear human chorus, but during the breaking point 14:37 we also hear electronic instruments, or at least music which could not have been done with normal instruments. Even in her song, Kromer in an attempt to make it seem pure ends up distancing herself from that "humanlike purity" just as how during the song she has corroded

From a Place of Love, for example being a master piece for how it changes depending how much you know. You either are one who says "its so nice" or the one who sips whiskey in the back saying "we dont talk about love town..." I found with project moon, its a rabbit hole with alot of pull to it in many aspects. It grabs you, captivates you and the next thing you know you're diving head first into wonderland. I hope you enjoy your time within the magical world where the city resides, and remember. Dont play in the outskirts. The sweepers are quite peckish

Lament. noun. a passionate expression of grief or sorrow. This one word describes the very theme of Limbus Company. And its theme song "In Hell we Live, Lament". And the world the story takes place, the eponymous CITY. From the moment I discovered project moon and their games I have been enraptured with this beautifully disgusting world they created. Then Mili came and gave their music to this world and it became even more alive in its dreadful pulchritude. Lament for Carmen, for Ayin, for Benjamin and the Sephirah. Lament for Angela, for Roland and for the people whose books adorn the library. Lament for Moses and for the people who will distort one day. Lament for Catt, Rose and Taii and all the dead L. Corp employees. Lament for Vergilius and his orphanage. Lament for Dante, the sinners and the rest of the residents of this wretched hell they call home as we join them on this bus trip through inferno.

If she hasn't already, she REALLY needs to react to the Milli songs made for Library of Ruina! I haven't even played Ruina and those tracks slap so freaking hard! Super distinct, extremely catchy at points, just dripping with meaning in every word. I really can't recommend it enough. String Theocracy is great, Poems of the City is just so haunting and incredible, and Children of the City is just fantastic! I have no other context, these songs just rule!

Mili has a rly unique songs, they are all great. Limbus other ost is unique and great as well, newest chapter songs are so good that they are on my playlist of uniques songs xD. I'm day 1 player and PM is rly generous and listen to players, so it's worth to at least give it a try. 2nd song during boss is so great, that I was extend the fight just to listen to it :D. I think the best gacha that was released in 2023 so far. I can't wait for the stream :D

Forget about "limbus player reacts". It's "mili enjoyer reacts" time! It's quit surprising how fast mili became a staple part of PM-verse since their songs only appeared in second game.

While the ideal would be for you to play the game, future Manager Esquire, you can always watch the whole story in youtube. It's not the same, obviously, but besides maybe looking up some lore videos for Lobotomy Corporation and Library of Ruina to learn some terms and setting, you won't have to go looking all over the place for thing like timelines since LCB's story is pretty linear (if with a somewhat awkward timeskip in the middle).

I'm not really sure about it, but if some other italian can help me confirm this, the language at the top of the first song should be actual volgare fiorentino, which is the language in which Dante wrote The Divine Commedy. For everyone wondering, yes, italian is a very recent thing (1900 or so) , so every small region of Italy used to speak it's own completly different language which was almost incomprehensible to an inhabitant of another region.

It definitely seems like the first song was made for the game, once you played it you'll definitely understand the lyrics better and how it fits into Limbus

"I won't add it to my play every week quota" I'm willing to bet shes going to be hooked on the story with the first chapter alone. Now wait until she finds out about the Leviathan comic trailer on the PM Channel. And she will 100% going to check Library of Ruina and Lobotomy Corporation 😂

Can't recomend listening to other Mili songs enough. But those recomendations have already been made, so I won't repeat them. Hope you enjoy Limbus Company! A word of warning, though. Enjoying Project Moon games comes with some side effects: - Illiteracy; - Brain Rot; - Depression; - Spontaneous reactions to the word "Lament".
