Canada also has 5 pin bowling. Which uses similar size ball (possibly the same, never candlepin bowled before). I don't know it that well, but I think you get 3 shots in it as well. Counts as Strike then spare then pin count. Pin values are 5 for middle, 3 for next closest and 2 for corners for 15 total pin count per frame.

It is,and it isn't. It is in that anyone from 2 to 102 can roll a 2.6 pound ball at the pins. But as a professional candlepin bowler, it can be very frustrating. Look at the 4.59 mark. Plucking a 2 or 3 pin without taking anything else is common. Or shooting the dead wood can be challenging to. For instance say you are shooting at the 8 pin and a piece of dead wood is in front at an angle, or whatever. That shot isn't going. But in cases like splits like the dreaded 7-10. If there's wood,it might go.

duckpin is harder candle pin you leave deadwood on lane duckpin you dont i love bowling duckpin
@johncassani67802 жыл бұрын
Duckpin is fun. As a candlepin bowler, the slightly larger ball used in duckpins is difficult, but when I’ve bowled duckpins, it appears that they either allow candlepin balls, or have a range of diameters they allow. Anyway, I don’t like to say that any of these games are “harder” or “easier.” To be a good tenpin bowler, you have to have a consistent strike ball, and pick up every spare that you can. In candlepins, you basically need to aim for the head pin, and hope for the best, and pick up spares when you can. Duckpins certainly requires more strikes than candlepins, and so you have to be on the head pin big time. They are all great games. I understand how the lower scoring can be frustrating to the tenpin bowler though. I don’t think there has ever been a really good candlepin bowler with a hook. There used to be some who had a slow ball with a little bit of backup on it (left to right for a righty), but no righty with a right to left hook has ever been particularly successful. You just can’t control it with the size of the ball, and the lack of oil on the lane.

candle pin tho you dont clear dead wood duckpin you do duckpin much harder

@@johnm112 I’ve bowled ducks for the past 20 years and was practically raised in a duckpin home because both my mom and dad bowled ducks their entire lives. I can say for a fact candlepin is much more difficult than duckpins.
