that's the thing, neither bronze nor Mid-silver where I am do people punish bad decisions even a little. I have seen mercy players get away with the most ridiculous stuff, because nobody paid attention to them....

Believe it or not, there was a time on overwatch 1 in mid diams, I was know for my risky rez. I even rezed my genji one time, in the middle of enemy team, in front of a freaking bastion. I survived, we did a team kill with boosted blade and won the game. Was crazy. I almost never died it was scandalous. ofc I don't do it anymore except in qp just to disrespect the enemy team or tilt my friends that would die right after lol. It's scandalous how even in diams some rez are not punished.

@@PIKIWII lmao thats the kind of mercy i respect, im diamond rein and a good mercy rez makes or breaks the game sometimes. remember when rez was her ult? on 2cp mercy would just camp while their team got wiped, then get the 5 man. good old days.

@@crby101 fun thing is, I was not a mercy main back then. I tried her, though she was fragile af and became a Widow then Sombra main (I was just awfull at mercy in the end and don't wanted to learn her). I don't remember how or when I came back to her, but I ended being an otp Mercy for some long time. Today I still main her, but don't mind flexing to any other sup except bap (cause I'm bad at him). I'm still diams cause I don't really grind anymore, I just climb back to diams when I get a derank and that's all. Apparently I can easily reach Master but I never was so I consider myself an above average diams Mercy main. Peaked 3466 and i'm happy with it.

These videos have helped me a lot to recognize some of my mistakes that I originally thought were my teammates. They also help me to recognize when it IS my teammates lol. Either way, I was able to climb out of bronze this season and am currently on my way to gold. Thanks!

Normally when you take responsibility, it's a lot easier to get better. Even saying it in mic calms tension down in games more than people think it does. People don't want to face the truth that they suck. But if you're in bronze then there's a reason (I'm a bronze 1 dps).

Yeah it's much harder to recognise your own mistakes than your teams mistakes. A good way to frame it so you stop blaming teammates is to say that the enemy team is making mistakes too. It's ridiculously unlikely that a team, especially a random team, is going to play perfectly and it's impossible in any rank under grandmaster. If a team makes mistakes, there are always options to outplay them. If you work on spotting these mistakes while minimising your own, you will rank up. This goes for any game by the way

This Mercy needs to remember staying alive is one of the most important thing to do as a support. Always try to be the last to die, prioritize yourself in certain situation, because your team might have a better chance at winning the fight when you’re still alive and keeping them up. Also always dmg boost whenever you can, don’t make healing your default, you have more value to the team if you boost. No point in healing a full hp teammate unless they are being hard targeted by the enemy team in that moment. This series is great and helpful :D

Thanks for bringing these back Sty! Honestly this Mercy has a long way to go if she wants to climb. The best Mercy's always prioritize staying alive and using her movement/damage boost because that's where a lot of value comes in not going suicidal on Rez's or having terrible positioning. She's probably used to getting away with some of these Rez's so said fuck it. She should watch Skiesti and ML7 guide on Mercy if she wants an in depth guide on Mercy and continue to watch these to improve!

In this mercy's defense. I have seen this kind of mercy ressing at all levels of play. Except at a certain point they all do that spinning tech so its harder to easily kill them because they are standing still right in front of you

I used to always watch these videos and think that I’m nothing like these other bronze players and I could actually do well higher up. This was a couple years ago, and then I stopped playing until OW2 came out. I placed Bronze 5 in DPS (my main role), so I really thought that I might be doomed to stay in the lowest possible rank. However, I have made my way to Platinum 5 and hope to keep pushing. I know it’s not that impressive, but for me it’s very rewarding.

In bronze, there are 3 things you need to avoid to get to silver. Torb turrets, Sym turrets & Gravity (falling off the map) you do these 3 things, you're in Silver =P

I really was a bronze on supp but after I a while of playing and see how to play good as "mercy" I got gold 5 and that's good cuz I think I'm good a little bit tbh and ur right too and u don't need to die alot cuz that's make u bronze fr

That mouse thing is something that took me a long time to fix myself and I still sometimes catch myself doing it. It's bouncing your leg and having a ripple effect onto your arm/mouse. Sometimes this is just nervous energy, concentration or the dreaded listening to music as you play. Its a good idea to try and get yourself out if this habit if you do this. I find making sure my feet are positioned more forwards and flat on the floor helps a lot.
