Would be really interested in a video comparing the top Frost M+ build with this Unholy M+ build, breaking down the relative strengths and weaknesses of each. Which is: better with coordinated groups, better with PUG groups, better in lower/mid/higher keys, better on Tyran/Fort, etc…

Frost is better overall but unholy is extremely good as well frost is easier to play if you learn how to keep breath you are not limited by ground effects and defile is just visual clutter you dont need sure if you know fights you can more or less tell where the swirlies will drop but when one death is 15 sec defile is an obstacle you dont want to have

@@moose9626 Top DK in the world currently has played a lot of UH (Chinese DK), but recently has been running a lot of Frost keys. Ramix plays almost exclusivly UH it looks like, and most of the top 10 are just frost players.

Run higher keys, Scythe gets much stronger when you are getting 2 or 3 a every few globals, as the pack starts to die prep to get a scythe early in the next pull when you pop your Pestilance wounds.

the thing about scythe is that even a "feelsbad" scythe is bigger damage than anything else so it's just always a good idea to press scythe lol, unless you can spend RP instead and the next pull is only a few seconds away from happening

The trinkets and weapon on the list are prio, as for the rest just get the tier obviously. Get gear with no versatility, prioritize haste and mastery if you raid mythic otherwise just get a good mix of stats.

@@Bicepspump I haven't tested numbers but wouldn't sanlayn be perfect for this specific build? Since you want to spam as many vampiric strikes as humanly possible during the transformation window and this build passively generates basically all the wounds you need. Running the standard build with sanlayn often I found myself out of wounds but wanting to keep pressing vampiric strike anyways so getting wounds popping on every single cleave vampiric strike would be a net bonus.

Are you monitoring your festermight and attack speed stacks? Those make a big difference, low-rated DKs often don't prioritize building up and maintaining these stacks although the build does generally play itself That being said, you're going to do more damage in your frenzy windows and you might have awkward pulls where u dont have dark xform/abom up for the beginning but basically every spec in the game has these peaks and valleys so...

Frost is easier to play and does more upfront damage, which is nice in earlier content where mobs don't live long enough for specs that need time to set up like Unholy to feel good. But they're both great right now so you can try both and see which you prefer and be fine

Any idea of the minimum number of targets for this to be effective? So often m+ right now, especially with pugs, is just single pack pulls. Plus I kinda wonder about the viability in say heroic broodtwister or silken court. Where the target counts are variable and often not up for very long.

@@whitegoodmen1509 honestly depends on the build you’re running and how long they are alive. As well as stuff like whether all your CDs are up. It’s one of the reasons the first pull of a dungeon can be so important since you can go large, use your lust and all CDs to just blow stuff up.

Find a good one on wago back in DF, with wounds count and voice when its ready, you keep a good track on it to start a pack with like 3 or 2 wounds remaining to trigger it, the WA is with a purple-ish glow around the F-S logo

Festering Scythe doesn't come up as frequently as i hoped.. bursting "20" festering wounds to get it for a few seconds, just takes too long (build up time is not faster than apocalypse-build in my opinion, it is even much slower, when you keep in mind you must burst 20 FWs!, instead of just 2x festering strike -> then use vile contagion and gg)! ATM I´m not convinced of that build.

Thanks for making those videos, there is not enough content on unholy for m+ it’s such a good spec. But i have some reserves on those wounds builds. I don’t say it’s not the best for aoe, but for most players it will be a trap. Let me explain, you’re scoring on a +12, but for most player we’ll be on lower keys and mobs will die too fast, even on 9 fortified mobs you won’t have full benefits on this build i feel. Another point is you’re loosing a lot on single target and cleave damage that might affect your overall damage a lot. I’m probably wrong but i try wounds build, full aoe, cleave mage ( that are really underpowered), cleave single target builds… for me cleave single target builds scores the most on +9’s, other class burst too hard too fast to let us dps that’s my feeling. I’m not criticizing your build, just sharing my experience. Thanks again for the video

@@Dilllll26 nah you see that's a trap - Festering Scythe is nigh-on useless in low keys without an accelerator in Vile Contagion because bursting 20 wounds is a slow process and by the time you have it, the pull is over and the timer is so short it barely lasts from pack to pack.

For everyone in the comments saying this is too strong, this is solely the effect of mythic necrotic wake. Any class with insane AoE potential will do ridiculous damage here. Breathe Frost DK, MM/Surv Hunters, Fury Warriors, etc....for clarity I play a frost dk and on Necrotic +11 just breathe alone with rime procs gets me into the 18-20M/dps range easily in this dungeon. This is a terrible showcase but the guy DID say at least this damage is cause of how big of a pull you can do in necrotic wake. Do not take this build into other mythics thinking its going to be the end all be all. If anything I would copy this build specifically for necrotic and call the build just that, DPS for Necrotic lol.
