My career as a designer allowed me to meet 3 of these sharks over a 10 yr period , I was based in Queensland. I wish the program still aired as the 3 I have worked for as a designer are the most generous down to earth people. It was on a personal level I went into 2 of their own homes and got to meet families and children. I now live back in NZ and the highlight of my career was being the “ Designer” for the wealthy and famous and sport stars of Australia. . After binge watching this for last few days it makes me want to return to Australia as these sharks make me home sick

You're comparing apples to oranges. You can't just randomly pick a company that has millions in debt and compare it to these guys. Those millions in debt usually have tens to hundreds of millions in sales. These guys have had 21k in sales. Plus, they haven't taken a 2nd mortgage in their homes, borrowed from a retirement fund, etc. They're basically asking the sharks to take 100% of the financial risk. Why would any investor agree to do that?

I am a woman posting this and I don’t care if other women are offended by this comment. Janine and the Red balloon gal are a waste of the show’s resources. They rarely offer any genuinely sage advice nor seem to demonstrate a thorough understanding of entrepreneurship. Their business contacts seem minimal at best compared to those of the men on the show. When it comes time for the ladies to react to the pitches made, I always feel their input is lacking any real substance. It would appear their only qualifications for being a shark are that they have investable assets and are aesthetically pleasing. They also seem to purposely reduce their business opportunities by only choosing products that are female oriented and/or organically manufactured. These reasons make it difficult for me to take them seriously. If you truly want to be successful in this particular arena, you need to be open to any kind of potentially profitable pitch.
